Job description

Eaton's Industrial Controls Division is currently seeking a Product Manager - Sensors. This role can be hybrid (3 days on-site, 2 days remote per week) based at our Moon Township, PA, Menomonee Falls, WI or Arden, NC locations. Other Eaton locations and remote work may be considered. Relocation assistance is not provided.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $113000 - $165000 a year.

What you'll do:
The product manager is a member of the Product Line Management team and leads execution of the strategic marketing plan for the Sensors product lines. This includes achieving financial objectives and executing a product strategy and roadmap that supports the overall strategy of the product line, ICD, and Eaton. This individual will drive and influence the strategy and create value propositions via a thorough understanding of customer needs, market trends, and competitor activities. The Product Manager is also responsible for the pricing and marketing functions for their product(s).
The Sensors product lines represent key businesses that support the Industrial Control Division. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a candidate who is passionate about solving customer problems and growing sales and profitability through, superior customer experience and active promotion of differentiated products. This role will work extensively with teams across the globe and serve as a key point of contact for our interunit assembly partners using these products. This role will offer candidates a unique opportunity to work cross functionally with all facets of Eaton's business including Marketing Communications, Sales, Engineering, Finance, Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
In this function you will:
  • Develop and drive the execution of the strategic plan for assigned product(s)
  • Plan and implement sales and marketing strategies to achieve profit plan sales and financial objectives
  • Coordinate and develop support materials required to implement domestic and international product launches including catalogs, brochures, competitive comparisons, demos, videos promotions etc
  • Analyze key competitors to identify strengths, weakness and opportunities related to products, service level and strategies to support product strategy and roadmaps.
  • Measure and report out on product line performance (Sales, Orders, Share, Margin, Price) and strategic initiatives for the assigned product lines monthly.
  • Manage price realization objectives and targets
  • Create and provide technical sales presentations to customers and stakeholders internally and externally
  • Share ownership of product stocked inventory levels to appropriately support market required lead times
  • Collaborate with sales to collect VOC toward developing a product roadmap and supporting product introductions and new product development.

Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience across product management, strategic/technical marketing, engineering, sales, or operations with sensors or sensors applications

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Experience in developing product roadmaps, positioning strategy, price management, value proposition development and launching new products
  • Experience with products generating digital revenue
  • Experience working with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, finance and multiple sales channels

Skills:
  • Financial basics: Forecasting, Standard Margin, fixed and variable costs, NPV, IRR, YTP
  • Knowledge of industrial control markets, customers, and applications
  • Working knowledge of material conveyance, pivot irrigation, or other significant levels of sensors applications
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to influence global and decentralized teams towards a strategic vision
  • Must be able to communicate effectively at multiple organizational levels
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Must be able to facilitate customer meetings and deliver presentations
  • Ability to travel up to 25% including occasional international travel
