Job Summary:
Dometic is a global market leader in the mobile living industry, and they are seeking a passionate Product Manager for their Marine team. This role involves driving the Freshwater Ride and Handling products portfolio and supporting new product development to enhance user experience and market competitiveness.
Responsibilities:
• Products/product portfolio owner for growth and profitability of mechanical and electromechanical marine products.
• Responsible for product competitiveness, manage complexity by ensuring right strategic pricing between SKUs (Stock Keeping Units), manage product life cycle, proposes end-of-life, and drive modularization.
• Maintain a deep understanding of the markets, customer experiences, needs, segmentation, and competitor offerings.
• Support product development prioritization based on input from the market, develop end-to-end product business plan and identify needs for investment to ensure right products are built right.
• Identify and fill product gaps and generate innovative ideas that grow market share.
• Support sales and marketing function in defining product positioning, USPs (Unique Selling Points), product branding, selling content and value-based selling.
• Develop strong working relationship with key partner customers.
• Develop and manage product vision white papers, roadmap, presentations, and formal business cases.
• Create buy-in for the product vision internally and externally with key partner customers.
• Define mechanical, electrical, and UI/UX product requirements.
• Conduct margin analysis, industry/market research, and in-life performance measurement to determine product demand, positioning, viability, and profitability.
• Act as an internal voice of the customer for the development team.
• Drive product launch priorities including working with public relations team, executives, and other product management team members.
• Evaluate promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed.
• Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding.
• Represent the company by visiting customers to solicit feedback on products and services.
• Look for field feedback and warranty information and drive for product continuous improvement
• Pre-empt potential problems and provide effective solutions in reaction to the application of concepts, techniques, knowledge, or processes developed to support the new product or product change.
Qualifications:
Required:
• University or Institute qualifications in Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in an Engineering, marketing, or product management capacity.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.
• Well-developed organizational skills with the ability to manage a variety of tasks.
• Strong proficiency with MS Office programs including: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint; and the ability to learn other applications quickly.
• Excellent customer service, management skills and experience.
• Proficient at merchandizing and promoting products to target markets.
• Able to analyze target markets and develop forecasts based on this data.
• Summarize data for a broader audience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a cohesive team.
Preferred:
• Candidates with prior Marine experience preferred
