Job Description
The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for directing and managing all aspects of his or her assigned operational area. Within this area the Supervisor will have responsibility for health and safety systems, work flow planning, quality, employee relations, training, continuous improvement and other production related activities. The Supervisor is also responsible for taking an active role in making recommendations for improvements to production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
Typical responsibilities might include:
  • Workforce development through performance management and training, including cross-training of personnel to achieve maximum flexibility in work assignments.
  • Assignment of personnel, processes & equipment to most effectively execute work.
  • Identifying staffing needs in accordance with business levels.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures and when necessary addressing issues through the corrective action process.
  • Communication of performance measurements and providing performance feedback to employees.
  • Driving improvements to the highest level, including linking individual performance awareness to team performance awareness to company performance awareness.
  • Having the capability and desire to support the Company's key initiatives needed to obtain the Company goals and relaying such goals in an appropriate manner.
  • Communication with management regarding production status and issues through daily participation in production meetings.
  • Complete and submit employee timecards in appropriate timeframe.

Qualifications
  • 10 years of experience in a Manufacturing/Production environment with a focus on assembly and/or machining. 3-5 years experience in a Supervisory role with direct responsibility of 20+ employees/functions.
  • Associates Degree or applicable/proven accomplishments in a leadership role within a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to present topics and information to a large audience in an appropriate manner.
  • Experience in actively leading Health and Safety programs.
  • Experience in actively leading Quality and Productivity programs or initiatives within assigned areas.
  • Experience and proficiency with business related computer programs Microsoft Office, ERP programs, Timekeeping systems, etc.
