What You'll Do
As a Practice Innovation Coordinator on Kirkland's Innovation team, you'll directly impact the Firm's innovation and legal technology roadmap with day-to-day coordination, scheduling, tracking, documentation, and operational tasks to support Practice Innovation initiatives. You'll help keep pilots, vendor engagements, and practice group outreach on track by coordinating logistics, maintaining trackers, preparing materials, and ensuring smooth operations within the Practice Innovation team. This role is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to learn about legal technology and innovation.
Practice Innovation Operations & Coordination
• Schedule and facilitate Practice Innovation team meetings, vendor demos, and attorney-facing practice group touchpoints.
• Develop and maintain project trackers, timelines, and status reports for Practice Innovation pilots and strategic projects.
• Coordinate logistics for Practice Innovation training sessions, workshops, and presentations.
• Organize agenda and track action items from Practice Innovation team meetings and vendor calls.
• Support the preparation of materials for practice group meetings and C-suite leadership updates.
Vendor & Stakeholder Support
• Assist with scheduling and coordinating vendor meetings, demos, and follow-ups on behalf of the Practice Innovation team.
• Maintain organized records of vendor contacts, engagement history, and key dates.
• Help compile vendor-related research, product updates, and competitive intelligence for Practice Innovation Advisors.
• Track renewal dates, contract milestones, and subscription details for Practice Innovation tools.
Documentation & Reporting
• Coordinate with Innovation Enablement team to maintain and update Practice Innovation documentation including playbooks, process guides, and onboarding materials.
• Assist in compiling adoption metrics, usage data, and feedback summaries for Practice Innovation reporting.
• Help prepare presentations, decks, and written communications for internal practice group and external vendor/client audiences.
• Organize and maintain the Practice Innovation team's shared files, templates, and knowledge base.
• Coordinate with other Innovation verticals (Innovation Engineering, Innovation and AI Enablement) on behalf of Practice Innovation for shared initiatives.
• Liaise with administrative, IT, and operations teams to support Practice Innovation logistics and tool access.
• Facilitate communication between Practice Innovation and practice group contacts.
What You'll Bring
Required:
• 1 - 3 years of experience in legal operations, legal technology, project coordination, program support, or administrative coordination in a law firm or professional services environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and comfort learning new tools and technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High degree of professionalism, accountability, and discretion.
• Bachelor's Degree.
Preferred:
• Experience in a law firm or legal technology environment.
• Familiarity with legal technology platforms, AI tools, or practice management software.
• Experience with project management tools (e.g., Monday.com, Asana, Smartsheet).
• Interest in legal innovation, legal technology, or process improvement.
• Experience preparing reports, presentations, or executive communications.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
• Other duties and special projects as assigned by management. The Practice Innovation Coordinator may be asked to assist with tasks outside of the primary responsibilities described above, in support of the Practice Innovation team's broader objectives.
Compensation
The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position in each of the below locations. This range may differ based on your geographic location and cost of living considerations. At Kirkland & Ellis, we consider compensation more than just a base salary. Compensation Range:
Chicago: $77,000 - $109,000
New York: $77,000 - $120,000
