Job description

At Midland States Bank, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of short-term incentives (i.e. bonus and/or commission) and may include long-term incentives (i.e. stock awards). Salary Range: $60,000-80,000

Position Summary

Reporting to the Client Success Manager - FinTech Services, the Product Implementation Associate - FinTech Services supports partner success, relationship management, operational coordination, and reporting across Midland States Bank's Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) and FinTech partner portfolio. This role assists with partner onboarding, ongoing partner support, issue tracking, meeting preparation, and internal coordination to help ensure fintech partners are successful while operating safely, compliantly, and in alignment with bank standards.

This highly collaborative role works closely with the Client Success Manager and internal teams-including Product, Compliance, Risk, Information Security, Credit, Technology, and Operations-to support partner communications, maintain partner documentation, track deliverables, gather reporting inputs, and help strengthen the overall FinTech Services operating model. The Client Success Associate serves as a key support resource for partner experience, internal follow-through, and scalable program execution.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Provide support and promote Midland States Bank Core Vision and Value.
  • Work alongside the Client Success Manager - FinTech Services, FinTech Services team and internal partners in supporting relationships with existing and prospective fintech partners.
  • Support day-to-day coordination with assigned fintech partners, including meeting follow-up, open item tracking, status updates, and internal routing of partner requests.
  • Assist with fintech onboarding transitions by tracking deliverables, coordinating information requests, maintaining readiness checklists, and supporting cross-functional project meetings.
  • Monitor partner requests, operational issues, escalations, and follow-up items to help ensure timely communication and resolution.
  • Develop, maintain, and update partner trackers, reporting materials, pipeline records, due diligence logs, and partner health summaries.
  • Partner with Compliance, Risk Management, Information Security, Credit, Technology, and Operations to support ongoing due diligence, monitoring, and change-management activities.
  • Maintain accurate partner files, including onboarding status, key contacts, product scope, open deliverables, approvals, and readiness milestones.
  • Conduct industry, market, and partner research to support pipeline reviews, partner analysis, and ongoing relationship management.
  • Identify opportunities to improve partner experience, internal workflows, reporting consistency, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Assist with technical product ownership activities for FinTech Services platforms, integrations, workflows, and partner-facing capabilities.
  • Assist with the collection, organization, and analysis of data used to support partner performance reviews, executive reporting, risk monitoring, transactional processing and operational decision-making.
  • Support the enhancement of standardized partner playbooks, workflows, reporting templates, meeting materials, and communication tools.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate partner-driven initiatives, testing cycles, releases, operational readiness activities, and post-launch support.
  • Coordinate with Technology and data teams to troubleshoot system issues, investigate data exceptions, and communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Help document decisions, approvals, dependencies, risks, and next steps to promote clarity and shared accountability across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Marketing, Finance, Business Administration, or similar required.
  • 2+ years of experience in fintech, BaaS, digital banking, product, operations, client success, project coordination, or financial services roles.
  • Experience supporting client, vendor, fintech, or partner relationships in a regulated or operationally complex environment preferred.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills, including the ability to track open items, deadlines, deliverables, dependencies, and follow-up actions.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare clear meeting notes, status updates, reporting materials, and executive-ready summaries.
  • Basic understanding of fintech operating models, BaaS partnerships, deposit products, payments, or third-party risk considerations preferred.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with technology, compliance, risk, operations, product, or client-facing teams.
  • Ability to analyze information, identify trends or issues, and escalate items appropriately.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly across different teams and levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in helping translate business needs, partner requests, or functional asks into clear internal action items.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of prioritization of work.
  • Adaptable, juggling multiple and sometimes changing priorities.
