Job description

Why Join Our Team

This is a rare opportunity to join one of the fastestโ€‘growing enterprise software companies in the world โ€” a company that unifies HR, IT, and Finance into a single system and is now investing heavily in nextโ€‘generation AI experiences.

Why top designers are excited about this role:

  • Massive scale & impact โ€” the platform powers dozens of interconnected products used by thousands of companies.
  • Executive visibility โ€” AI and Platform design are topโ€‘level company priorities with direct leadership attention.
  • Categoryโ€‘defining work โ€” help define the emerging UX patterns for LLMs, agents, evals, and AIโ€‘driven workflows.
  • Unmatched leverage โ€” platform primitives you design will ripple across every product surface.
  • Elite peers โ€” work with worldโ€‘class PMs, engineers, and designers from top tech companies and design schools.
  • Strong compensation โ€” competitive cash, frontโ€‘weighted equity, and longโ€‘term refreshers.
About the Role

As a Product Design Lead, you will own a critical product vertical from 01 and drive it to shipped reality. You'll transform deep administrative and technical complexity into elegant, intuitive workflows that feel effortless for end users.

You won't just design screens โ€” you will define strategy, shape systems, and set the quality bar for an entire product ecosystem.

We are hiring across several pillars:

1. AI Platform (Top Priority)

Lead the design of AIโ€‘powered experiences across the entire product suite.
You will define interaction patterns for LLMs, agents, evals, observability, and dynamic AI states โ€” and help establish the company's AI design language.

2. New Company Experience (NCE)

Own the endโ€‘toโ€‘end experience for enabling customers to onboard and activate standalone products (IT, Finance, Travel, Time & Attendance, etc.) without requiring HRIS.
This is one of the company's most important business objectives and requires deep systems thinking.

3. Core Platform (Permissions, Foundations, Integrations)

Design the underlying primitives โ€” permissions models, data visualizations, shared surfaces, and crossโ€‘cutting frameworks โ€” that unify dozens of products into one coherent system.

What You Will Do
  • Strategy & Vision
Partner with crossโ€‘functional leadership to define longโ€‘term product direction and nearโ€‘term execution plans.
  • Endโ€‘toโ€‘End Product Design
Drive complex products from research wireframes highโ€‘fidelity prototypes QA and launch.
  • Systems Thinking
Create scalable frameworks and primitives that maintain coherence across a massive, multiโ€‘product ecosystem.
  • AI Interaction Design (for AI roles)
Define the state space of AI interactions โ€” uncertainty, reasoning, agent actions, error states, and more.
  • Research & Insight
Collaborate with UX Research to deeply understand user pain points and translate them into intuitive solutions.
  • Craft Leadership
Mentor designers, lead critiques, and uphold a consumerโ€‘grade quality bar for enterprise software.
What You NeedExperience
  • 8+ years of professional product design experience
  • Proven ability to ship complex, highโ€‘impact products in demanding domains (SaaS, Fintech, Enterprise, AI)
  • Experience in both big tech and highโ€‘growth startups strongly preferred
  • Staffโ€‘level ownership: concept iteration delivery iteration
Skills
  • Exceptional systems thinking โ€” ability to simplify massive complexity
  • Strong product intuition and taste
  • Technical fluency (comfortable working closely with engineering; understands constraints)
  • Ability to communicate clearly with executives and crossโ€‘functional partners
  • A portfolio demonstrating complex B2B SaaS work, not just consumer/mobile
Bonus Backgrounds
  • Experience with AI products (LLMs, RAG, agents, evals, observability)
  • Experience at multifaceted platforms or companies with deep onboarding flows
  • Education from top design programs (SCAD, RISD, CMU, ArtCenter, Parsons, etc.)
  • Former founders or designers who have built 01 products
    Locations & Work Setup
    • San Francisco, Seattle, New York
    • Hybrid: 3+ days/week in office
    • Visa sponsorship available
