ASRC Federal is seeing a Senior Configuration Manager to support an upcoming contract in San Antonio, Texas.
Position: Senior Configuration Manager
Location: San Antonio, TX (On-Site.)
Clearance: U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain a Public Trust.
Summary: This contract will provide 24/7/365 operations support to the customer. Applicant must be able and willing to work on-call, shift, or surge if required. Must be flexible and able to travel when necessary. Will need a Real ID and current passport.
Work arrangement: This position will require on-site occupancy at or near the Ft Sam Houston location. Core hours are 6:00am - 6:00pm; exception being shift-work (surge) or on-call staff. Telework may be considered on a position-by-position bases with approval by the customer.
Responsibilities:
  • Position may be required to manage subordinate personnel. Managerial responsibilities include but are not limited to, on-boarding & exiting assistance, timecard accounting, performance reviews, mentoring, and reporting.

Expert-level knowledge or significant hands-on experience in:
  • Document the approval, deployment, and configuration of all Infrastructure system/service Configuration Items (CI) into the IT Service Management (ITSM) solution to establish system baseline(s) for the infrastructure pre-production and production environments.
  • Manage and maintain the ITSM Configuration Management Database (CMDB)-enterprise level; as a means to automate change activities associated with approved changes and employ necessary continuous process improvement efforts.
  • Provide customers and government lead with accurate, timely information on infrastructure system/service CIs using the existing ITSM CMDB.
  • Document and track 100 percent of modifications using the established ITSM CMDB.
  • Provide ITSM CMDB training to change coordinators/initiators. Establish and ensure pertinent artifacts are generated as part of the proposed change request and maintained so physical/functional and design "baselines" can be accurately updated after changes are applied in Enterprise Solutions Architecture-i.e., software and/or hardware.
  • Conduct configuration audit/verification activities in order to determine undocumented changes and minimize service disruptions/outages.
  • Employ change management status accounting strategies to ensure board members, system owners and stakeholders are apprised of anticipated/ongoing/completed deployment/transition activities within the enterprise.
  • Conduct Change Ticket assessments in order to standardize and strengthen change ticket content created by change coordinators-information is used by voting members to better understand risks/impacts associated with proposed changes.
  • Conduct Post Implementation Reviews (PIRs) with change teams and record any unexpected results prior to closing change request tickets.
  • Gather all document Configuration Items (CIs) upon ticket completion and house relevant document CIs into the Infrastructure Knowledge Management Centralized repository-thereafter, advance tickets to closed.
  • Create and manage all Configuration Management foundation documents; Enterprise CM Policy Letter, Enterprise CM Plan, Enterprise CM Plan Template Guide (for applications/systems), Change Advisory Board (CAB) Charter(s), Change Management Diagrams to include: CM Framework, process flows, swim diagrams, others as required.

Requirement
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and with ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust
  • Must successfully complete a government issued background investigation.
  • Must be flexible to travel when necessary. Must have Real ID, and ability to obtain a U.S. Passport.

  • Education:

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience with a BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering Management or related discipline OR in lieu of a technical degree, must have BA/BS degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering Management or related discipline OR
  • MA/MS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering Management or related discipline, with 6 years of relevant experience OR
  • AA/AS degree or high school diploma with 15 years of experience in Information Technology or a related field.

  • Required Certifications: Applicants will be required to have: *incumbents have 6 months to obtain

  • ITIL V4 Foundations

  • Must have the ability to:

  • Coordinate several concurrent tasks
  • Interface with users in a pleasant and tactful manner
