Job description

Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) builds systems to deliver customer freight quickly, accurately, and cost-effectively. We optimize our Inbound transportation network to drive customer savings through continuous innovation and world-class service levels.
Key job responsibilities
- Manage carrier procurement for Amazon's 3P Inbound Truckload and Intermodal program, including running competitive bid cycles, evaluating carrier rates against market benchmarks, and awarding lanes based on rate and performance
- Build and maintain analytical models to support procurement decisions, capacity planning, and carrier performance tracking
- Partner with carriers and brokers to develop the carrier network, onboard new partners, and hold existing partners accountable to performance standards
- Identify opportunities to improve cost, capacity, and service through data-driven analysis and cross-functional collaboration
- Work with internal teams across Operations, Finance, and Technology to prioritize and execute procurement initiatives
- Develop and maintain reporting mechanisms to track KPIs and surface insights to leadership
- Produce business review updates and present procurement strategy and performance to senior stakeholders
- Navigate ambiguous, complex business challenges independently and drive them to resolution

This role sits at the center of Amazon's 3P vendor inbound supply chain, with direct influence over transportation cost, carrier capacity, and service reliability across a high-volume national network. Success in this role requires someone who can combine strong analytical skills with sound business judgment, communicate effectively across levels, and drive measurable outcomes in a fast-moving environment.
A day in the life
Managing carrier procurement for Amazon's 3P Inbound Truckload and Intermodal program means no two days look exactly the same. You'll split your time between data analysis and modeling, running competitive bid cycles with carriers and brokers, and partnering with internal teams across Operations, Finance, and Technology to drive cost and capacity improvements. Strong written and verbal communication is essential - this role presents regularly to senior leadership and is expected to hold its own in data-heavy conversations with cross-functional stakeholders
About the team
Amazon's 3P Inbound Procurement team owns carrier rate strategy and network development for vendor-to-fulfillment center transportation across the US and Canada. We manage a large, multi-carrier network of truckload and intermodal providers, running competitive bid cycles and driving continuous improvement on cost, capacity, and service reliability. The team works closely with Operations, Finance, and Technology partners and has direct influence on how Amazon's inbound supply chain performs at scale.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- 2+ years of supply chain experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
