Procurement Specialist
Location: Tucson, AZ (Onsite)
Security Clearance Required: Active Top Secret (TS) Clearance
Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000
About the Opportunity
A growing, employee-owned technology and engineering organization in Tucson is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to support purchasing, subcontract administration, property coordination, and procurement compliance activities in a highly regulated government contracting environment.
This position reports directly to the Procurement Manager and plays a key role in supporting operational, engineering, and program teams by ensuring timely, compliant, and cost-effective procurement processes.
The ideal candidate will bring strong government contracting procurement experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage procurement activities for materials, equipment, services, and subcontracted work in support of company programs and operations.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders, solicit quotes, evaluate vendor proposals, and negotiate pricing and delivery terms.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, FAR/DFARS requirements, and government contracting standards.
- Maintain accurate procurement documentation, vendor records, and purchasing files.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, Program Management, Finance, and Property teams to support project timelines and material requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and resolve purchasing or vendor-related issues.
- Support subcontract administration activities, including documentation and compliance tracking.
- Assist with inventory, asset tracking, and property-related coordination as needed.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency and compliance.
- Support audits and reporting requests related to purchasing and procurement activities.
Required Qualifications
- Active Top Secret (TS) Clearance
- 5+ years of procurement, purchasing, or subcontract administration experience in a government contracting or regulated environment
- Strong understanding of procurement compliance and documentation practices
- Experience working with vendors, contracts, pricing, and negotiations
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting aerospace, defense, engineering, or technology organizations
- Familiarity with FAR/DFARS procurement requirements
- Experience with ERP or procurement systems
- Knowledge of government property or asset management processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field
