Purchasing Manager - Engineering/Procurement/Construction

EnergyLink, a Quanta Services company, is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead procurement teams supporting large-scale utility construction projects nationwide.
This role oversees high-volume, high-dollar purchasing from planning through delivery in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift quickly and different projects may operate across multiple systems and workflows.
The ideal candidate is an experienced people leader who can drive accountability, develop buyers, and ensure timely, cost-effective procurement execution aligned with active construction schedules.

What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Buyers to achieve performance, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Develop and execute purchasing plans aligned with project schedules, budgets, and engineering specifications.
  • Drive strategic sourcing initiatives to reduce cost, improve reliability, and minimize supply risk.
  • Oversee supplier selection and contract administration with a focus on quality, pricing, and on-time delivery.
  • Partner with logistics, inventory, and project teams to support just-in-time delivery and efficient inventory turnover.
  • Proactively resolve supplier performance issues and implement corrective actions to avoid project disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, contractual requirements, and industry safety standards.
  • Track and report procurement KPIs; identify continuous improvement and cost-saving opportunities.

What You'll Bring
Experience
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in purchasing or procurement.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience; leading buyer teams and building strong supplier partnerships.
  • Experience supporting energy, utility, high-voltage, or EPC projects strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (JDE or similar) and procurement platforms.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, project management, and field operations.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
