Job description

The Manager, Global Procurement (Silicone/Film) is responsible for establishing, refining and executing strategies for the company's Silicone and Film categories, with overarching objectives of reducing the company's Total Cost of Ownership, mitigating supply risk, managing complexity, and supporting sustainability goals and initiatives. Globally, the company spends over $75 million/year on Silicone and Film.

The company is headquartered in Cary, North Carolina, U.S.A. and has four manufacturing sites in North America (Eden, NC; Hammond, WI; Iowa City; IA; Malvern, PA), two manufacturing sites in Europe (Apeldoorn, The Netherlands; Forchheim, Germany), one manufacturing site in India (Silvassa) and one manufacturing site in China (Guangzhou).

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze and benchmark the company's Silicone and Film category data and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Keep fully abreast of applicable market conditions and industry trends.
  • Develop and cultivate important supplier relationships.
  • Work cross-functionally and in conjunction with business stakeholders to develop, refine and execute sourcing strategies for the Silicone and Film categories, which deliver against business objectives, including but not limited to cost and working capital commitments.
  • Negotiate and formalize new supply agreements that provide a strategic advantage to the company.
  • Develop and execute approaches that minimize supply and cost risks.
  • Address and resolve quality issues and supplier disputes in a manner that is fair but protects the company's interests.
  • Network with company leaders and stakeholders to build a robust pipeline of sourcing productivity initiatives and work cross-functionally to execute those opportunities consistent with project timelines.

SECONDARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Occasional travel required (10-20%).

JOB SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in supply chain, engineering, science, business or related field. MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years professional working experience, with at least 8 years in Procurement including 5+ years of chemical sourcing experience supporting manufacturing operations. Direct experience sourcing Silicone and/or Film is preferred.
  • Expert-level procurement skills across the entire source-to-pay process, including but not limited to supplier identification and qualification, negotiation and contract development, logistics, and supplier complaint resolution. Professional certification preferred (e.g. CIPS, CPSM, CSCP, etc).
  • Well-versed in contract terms and conditions with strong ability to draft and edit contract language.
  • A demonstrated ability to think strategically and translate that thinking into robust and well-crafted category strategies.
  • Analytical with the ability to model costs and assess commercial proposals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact throughout all levels of an organization. Fundamental understanding of the relationship between Procurement and other business functions and processes.
  • Penchant for challenging the status quo, but with an ability to influence and lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and initiatives. Self-starter, with the ability to act independently and deliver results.
  • Data-, process- and systems-driven. Six sigma black belt certification desired.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical procurement practices.
  • Proficient with SAP and Microsoft Office®. SAP S4/HANA experience desired.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety for both oneself and coworkers
