Basic Function
Supports the procurement organization's goals and objectives by leveraging advanced analytical techniques and tools to transform raw data into strategic insights that enhance decision-making and drive operational success. Manage complex datasets, develop sophisticated analytics solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, optimize processes, and implement impactful improvements. Ensures data accuracy and integrity while communicating findings effectively to diverse stakeholders, influencing organizational strategies and fostering data-driven innovation.
Job Duties

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: (functions considered essential as defined by ADA)

  • Data Collection & Management:
    • Gather, organize, and manage complex datasets from various internal and external sources.
    • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity through rigorous audits, validation, and quality control measures.
    • Design and maintain advanced data models to support seamless data processing and automated reporting.
  • Data Analysis & Insights:
    • Conduct sophisticated analyses using statistical, predictive, and machine learning techniques to solve complex problems and drive business value.
    • Identify trends, correlations, and opportunities through deep-dive data exploration and advanced modeling.
    • Develop actionable recommendations to inform strategies and improve business outcomes.
  • Reporting & Visualization:
    • Design and implement dynamic dashboards, reports, and visualizations to clearly communicate complex insights.
    • Tailor presentations to diverse audiences, ensuring both technical and non-technical stakeholders can understand and utilize insights effectively.
    • Provide proactive and timely responses to ad-hoc reporting needs.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Partner with cross-functional teams and leadership to understand their data needs and provide expert-level analytical support.
    • Act as a key liaison between business units and technical teams to ensure alignment on project goals, metrics, and deliverables.
    • Mentor and train team members on data tools, systems, and best practices to elevate organizational analytics capabilities.
  • Process Improvement & Innovation:
    • Identify and lead initiatives to improve data collection, storage, and analysis.
    • Develop strategies to automate workflows, enhance efficiency, and support scalable growth.
    • Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects that leverage data to innovate and create new business opportunities.
  • Data Quality & Governance:
    • Establish and uphold best practices for data governance, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and standards.
    • Oversee data cleansing, enrichment, and transformation processes to ensure high-quality, reliable datasets.
    • Advocate for and support policies that promote data integrity and effective data management.
  • Leadership & Special Projects:
    • Drive high-impact projects that align with organizational goals and deliver measurable outcomes.
    • Provide guidance based on data-driven insights to influence decision-making at the leadership level.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
    • Lead or contribute to special assignments or organizational initiatives as required.

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of 0- 2 years related experience is required.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Refinery experience and/or experience in procurement, accounting, and inventory management are preferred.

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, in a technical or business related field. Each year of experience over five in procurement or inventory control may be substituted for one year of education (nine years total experience required w/o education).

Required Skills

Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize analyze and disseminate significant quantities of information with attention to detail and accuracy; knowledge of the procurement / contracting business and ability to apply this knowledge in providing supporting analytics and reporting; Advanced reading and writing skills; strong background and extensive knowledge of Excel (focus on Power Query/Power Pivot for data transformations); Power BI, SAP tables and QuickViewer query builder, SAP scripting and Microsoft VBA to automate routine manual tasks; familiarity with SQL; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with requirements gathering and process documentation; ability to analyze and reconcile data across multiple data sets and systems, interpret data into insights, and develop actionable recommendations; experience with manual bulk data processing using reports/queries and uploads; experience in data analysis methods and using a variety of tools to develop visualizations; business process analysis and change management; extracting data from tables, building queries in SAP; preparing and using large data sets to create dashboards.;strong communication skills to present data-driven insights to senior leadership.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

May have direct reports (contractor and/or HF Sinclair staff).

Work Conditions

Office based with occasional refinery work and with up to 25% travel required by land or air. May include petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, and/or out-of-doors environment.

Physical Requirements

Job conditions require, walking, sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, talking or hearing, making precise hand and finger movements, and perceiving color differences, the ability to wear personal protective equipment (beards not permitted), and the ability to operate and drive all assigned company vehicles at company standard insurance rates is essential, valid State driver's license and proof of insurance required.  Job conditions may require reaching or grasping, lifting and/or carrying up to 20lbs, pushing and/or pulling up to 20 lbs, and climbing up to 15ft.
