Position Description:
The IT Procurement Analyst is responsible for acquiring hardware, software and services for company's IS&S department. The Procurement Analyst will be a part of procurement lifecycle initiative and assist Project Managers / company's associates with their procurement requirements. The IT Procurement Analyst performs many of these tasks independently and communicates with the appropriate teams to ensure that assignments are delivered with the highest of quality and in accordance to standards. The position will create RFI, RFQ, RFP and also provide technology research.
Essential Job Functions:

  • Ability to use procurement tools - and templates used by company within Iasta, Vendor Evaluation Models to establish and compare various options available for the client organization in a specific situation. And use that analysis to build robust recommendations.
  • Financial skills, especially relating to understanding IT budgets, cost models to build procurement options and ROI analysis, while working closely with Finance.
  • IT procurement skills to deal with processes such as RFI, RFP, RFQ, needs and wants analysis, purchase requisition, purchase orders and payment processes. The position will require building RFI, RFP and RFQs.
  • Become a resource for Gartner technology research and advisory services. Position will require the ability to understand requirements and provide Gartner analysis to stakeholders.
  • Analytical skills to understand the procurement transactions, trends and supply market conditions. Ability to read beyond what is being presented, to understand the underlying messages and use them for organizational advantage.
  • Stakeholder management abilities to ensure expectations align with procurement initiatives. Effective reporting and identification of new opportunities.
  • Communication skills to communicate at all levels; IT procurement associates will need to work with project managers, business analysts, infrastructure engineers and other stakeholders (including vendors) to complete procurement projects.
  • Influencing skills to identify shared objectives that can help build momentum and drive goals in an agreed direction. Ability to leverage relationships within the organization to build support for procurement initiatives or address challenging situations.
  • Procurement project management to prioritize and balance time and resource allocation. Drive project closure from a procurement perspective, escalating it at an appropriate time when needed to ensure resolution among stakeholders and/or vendors.
  • Vendor management to manage the commercial issues relating to RFI, RPQ, RFP and non-performance that have commercial implications.
  • Partner with the appropriate teams to expedite issue resolution and manage to SLAs.
  • Establish priorities for projects within the company IT Procurement framework.
  • Ability to understand the IT asset management life cycle, the costs associated with life cycle management and to build cost models to compare procurement options.


  • IT procurement governance including IT procurement policies / processes to enable the implementation and reporting needed to address non-compliance.
  • People management of IT procurement teams, providing coaching, guidance and performance management.
  • Planning skills to identify and prioritize procurement initiatives, and to allocate appropriate time and resources to work within agreed project timelines. Follow up on vendors and stakeholders to close negotiations and contracts.
  •  Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.


Requirements:

  • IS related bachelor's degree in an Information Systems position or related business position
  • Prior experience with IT Procurement projects
  • Good understanding of Accounting, Finance and ROI analysis
  • 5 years minimum working Request for Proposals
  • Experience in RFP / RFI / RFQ research through proposal selection and award
  • Engagement with project team in understanding and assuring sufficiency of requirements
  • Performing technology research and advisory services
  • RFP writing and release
  • RFP, proposal assessment, contract award/selection documentation management & reporting
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills are required


Preferred Experience:

  • Grocery/Retail experience
  • 4 - 6 years knowledge of company systems
