Job Title: Processing Manager

Location: Southwest Michigan (commutable to the Indiana border region)
Employment Type: Full‑time, On‑site
Schedule: 40+ hours per week, including weekends/holidays as needed

A vertically integrated, seed‑to‑sale cannabis company in Southwest Michigan is seeking an experienced Processing Manager to lead extraction, formulation, Packaging, and processing operations. The organization is committed to producing premium cannabis products, maintaining strict compliance, and fostering a results‑driven, people‑focused culture.

Position Summary

The Processing Manager oversees all extraction, formulation, and processing activities, ensuring consistent product quality, regulatory compliance, and efficient workflow. This role directly supervises processing technicians and collaborates closely with cultivation and post‑harvest leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all extraction, packaging, and formulation practiaces
  • Develop and maintain SOPs; train processing and packaging personnel
  • Oversee packaging of all formulated products
  • Manage scheduling and coordination of finished goods for third‑party testing
  • Order equipment, supplies, and consumables; maintain inventory accuracy
  • Conduct routine inventory audits and maintain METRC compliance
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and output
  • Maintain preventative maintenance schedules for all processing equipment
  • Ensure proper labeling, storage, and regulatory compliance for all products
  • Collect, analyze, and present production data
  • Provide strong, communicative leadership; coach and develop staff
  • Enforce PPE, safety protocols, and OSHA/cannabis‑specific regulations
  • Maintain exceptional cleanliness and organization in all processing areas
  • Perform QA/QC checks to ensure product consistency and efficacy
  • Support cross‑departmental needs as required
  • Conduct employee performance reviews and manage corrective actions professionally
  • Develop visual management tools for processing workflows
Requirements & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 2 years of management experience in a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of cannabis industry experience
  • Strong analytical, chemistry, or lab experience preferred
  • Full understanding of METRC and Michigan cannabis regulations
  • Proficiency with Excel and daily spreadsheet management
  • Must be 21+ and able to pass a state‑required background check
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and flexible schedules
  • Must live within or be willing to relocate within 45 miles of Constantine, MI
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying indoor environmental conditions
  • Strong communication, time‑management, and multitasking skills
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing strongly preferred
  • Must be a team‑oriented, results‑driven leader with strong people skills
Physical & Environmental Expectations
