Job Description

As an HSE Manager at Rotork, you will strive to foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.  Your primary focus will be to implement Global Health & Safety policies and procedures within the facility to ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety and environmental laws and regulations, while maintaining a proactive approach to safety.

Health, Safety and Environmental Manager Impact:

  • Provide leadership, advice, and HSE support to the site's leadership and management team.
  • Provide leadership, governance, and drive a positive culture in all areas of HSE.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain, effective HSE Management Systems which meet customer, regulatory, and Rotork stakeholder business needs and drive continuous improvement in HSE culture and governance.
  • Support Rotork's mission of delivering Zero Harm.
  • Reporting directly to the Site Plant Manager, with a dotted-line relationship to the Regional HSE Manager.

Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • HSE Program Management: Maintain and continuously improve the site's health, safety, and environmental management systems. Develop and oversee local HSE audits, ensuring all company facilities comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Interpret relevant HSE legislation and recommend necessary actions to ensure site-wide compliance. Communicate regularly with the Group HSE team, reporting on KPIs, safety achievements, and site-specific challenges. Maintain and update all safety data, reports, and HSE records.
  • Safety Culture & Training: Provide comprehensive safety training for all employees. Facilitate the site's Health and Safety committee meetings. Guide incident and injury investigations, leading the coinciding root cause analysis.
  • Environmental Stewardship: Champion initiatives to lessen Rotork's environmental impact. Ensure all hazardous and non-hazardous waste programs meet regulatory standards.
  • Risk Management: Administer the maintenance of SDS, COSHH, and risk analysis databases. Assist with risk analysis documentation, training, and communication.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement best practices and appropriate benchmarking data to continuously improve HSE performance and drive positive recognition.
Qualifications

Experience and Certifications:

  • Minimum of two years of hands-on HSE experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent), or a willingness to obtain it.
  • Bachelor's degree in safety or a related field is preferred.

Safety and Technical Expertise:

  • Proven experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of auditing processes and the ability to coach and identify training needs.
  • A desire to set high standards of work performance and model a safety-first mindset.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with other departments and managers.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with a focus on winning as a team.

Analytical and Leadership Abilities:

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and work independently for extended periods.
  • Experience in a leadership capacity, effectively mentoring others and leading by example.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Power BI is a plus.
