Job Description Summary
              Â
The processing operator operates and adjusts all process equipment for smooth and productive operations; monitors lineflow and waste; corrects problems which affect quality and production costs; and makes line changes as directed by the production lead or team leader.

Maintains safe work practices at all times and participates in safety programs.Â
Changes water knives as needed.Â
Performs waste evaluations and changes grader screens as needed.Â
Operates equipment and makes adjustments as needed.Â
Maintains even lineflow.Â
Monitors and maintains product quality and attributes.Â
Communicates with other personnel: line status, quality, and other problems. Â
Must understand function and hazards of various cleaning chemicals, and must be able to perform various product testing procedures. Â
Must be able to work independently.Â
Shoveling product spills.Â
Completes production forms as required.Â
Enters checks into computer.Â
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:Â
Sanitation of area.Â
Breaking of other areas.Â
Performs weekend cleanup as assigned.Â
Performs and participates in AMD drumbeats

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred Â

  • Lock-out/Tag-out, Forklift, and Sanitation certification are required. If you are not qualified, you will be trained and must meet certification requirements. Â

  • Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing. Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English, both written and oral. (Requirement may vary by location). Â

  • Experience driving forklift in warehouse or manufacturing establishment preferred.  Â

  • Must be able to be qualified within time frames established by facility. Â

  • Ability to perform basic math functions, required. Â

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer operation knowledge, data entry skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Office programs. Â

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.  Â

  • Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperatureÂ

  • Exposure to manufacturing environments for up to 8 hours per work day to include:  loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells and allergies  Â

  • Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for job actions and procedures.  Â

  • Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.  Â

  • Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties.  Ability to operate work related equipmentÂ

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Â

  • Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Freezer Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Plant OperationÂ

  • May have to sample food while evaluating Lamb Weston productsÂ

  • Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders on a regular basisÂ
