Job description

Davis Tool has an immediate opening for a technician to work in our anodizing and zinc plating department. Position is available on Day shift. This can be a leadership growth position for the right candidate. The role involves prepping, racking and masking parts, as well as processing metal parts through chemical plating and surface coating process tanks.
Monday - Friday Work Week
Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Daily Tasks May Include:
  • Racking and masking parts according to customer specifications
  • Accurately communicating with the manager regarding process problems and solutions
  • Efficiently communicating necessary information to fellow team members
  • Working within defined processes to insure quality and meeting production output goals
  • Continually working to refine processes and improve quality and efficiency.
  • Running anodizing and zinc plating production
  • Safely maintaining chemical tanks to specified parameters using tank titration
  • Calculating plating thickness process time
  • Testing plating to determine adherence, thickness, quality, surface coverage and specified buildup

We are looking for candidates who:
  • Have at least 1 year of metal finishing or machining experience
  • Have demonstrated leadership qualities
  • Have at least a high school education with good verbal and communication skills
  • Demonstrate strong math and computer skills
  • Can perform complex tasks and processes
  • Demonstrate improvement and continuing education
  • Can accurately use measuring equipment (calipers, pin gauges, thread gages, etc)
  • Keep accurate records

Work Environment requirements:
  • Safely working with chemicals and wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
  • Repetitive motions including standing, bending, stooping, and lifting for up to 8 hours a day
  • Able to work quickly and efficiently
  • Ability to read, understand and accurately follow written work instructions
  • Lifting 35 lbs on a regular basis, 50 lbs periodically
  • Ability to adapt to varying temperatures
