Position Overview:
The Processing Operations Deputy Director supports the Processing Operations Director in managing the daily execution of Anovaeon's case processing operations within an ICE processing facility. This role focuses on operational coordination, staff supervision, and ensuring that case processing activities are conducted efficiently and in compliance with government expectations.
The Deputy Director plays a critical leadership role in overseeing day-to-day operations of the processing floor, coordinating supervisory staff, and maintaining operational continuity across shifts. This position serves as the acting operational lead in the absence of the Processing Operations Director.
Essential Functions:
Operational Leadership & Program Execution
  • Support the Processing Operations Director in managing daily case processing operations
  • Ensure processing activities are executed efficiently and in accordance with government procedures
  • Monitor operational workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and coordination
  • Assist in implementing operational policies, procedures, and process improvements
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Processing Site Supervisors and operational staff

Staff Supervision & Workforce Management
  • Provide direct supervision and support to Processing Site Supervisors
  • Assist with scheduling and staffing coordination across operational shifts
  • Monitor workforce performance and ensure operational standards are maintained
  • Support onboarding and training of new processing personnel
  • Assist with performance management, coaching, and staff development

Processing Operations Coordination
  • Oversee daily workflow of case processing teams and ensure timely completion of administrative tasks
  • Ensure coordination between Case Processing Specialists, Case Processing Aides, and supervisory staff
  • Monitor case processing activities to ensure documentation accuracy and operational compliance
  • Address workflow challenges or operational issues affecting processing efficiency

Cross-Team Operational Coordination
  • Coordinate with facility leadership and operational teams including corrections personnel, medical staff, IT teams, and other contractors
  • Ensure smooth coordination between processing teams and other operational departments within the facility
  • Assist in facilitating detainee movement and operational workflow across facility functions

Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Support the implementation of quality assurance processes across case processing operations
  • Conduct reviews of documentation and operational activities to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Identify operational gaps or documentation issues and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain adherence to all applicable government policies and contractual requirements

Communication & Reporting
  • Provide operational updates to the Processing Operations Director
  • Communicate operational priorities and updates to supervisory staff
  • Document significant operational issues, workflow challenges, or staffing concerns
  • Support preparation of operational reports or status updates as required

Knowledge and Skills
  • Strong operational leadership and team coordination skills
  • Ability to manage complex administrative workflows in high-tempo environments

Education and Experience

  • Experience supporting federal government programs strongly preferred
  • Experience working in detention operations, immigration processing, or law enforcement support programs preferred

Requirements of Employment
  • Employees must be a U.S. Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of the following screening:
    • Federal background investigation (up to and including a Tier 4 DHS clearance)

    • Compliance with all government credentialing requirements

  • Employees must adhere to all federal security, confidentiality, and operational protocols while working within government facilities.

Work Environment
  • Fully onsite position within an ICE processing facility in Maryland
  • Work schedules include 24/7 coverage, and may include shifts on overnights, evenings, weekends and holidays.

  • Fast-paced operational environment requiring attention to detail and professionalism

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit at a computer workstation for extended periods while conducting data entry and interviews
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during facility operations (up to 8-12 hours per shift)
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move supplies and equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions
  • Capability to work in varied environmental conditions (indoor/outdoor, temperature variations)
  • Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations throughout the facility
  • Visual acuity for detailed computer work and document review
  • Auditory ability to conduct interviews and monitor facility for safety concerns
