Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's degree in Business Administration, Legal Services or similar field of study preferred
  • Paralegal certificate preferred

Work Experiences:

  • 2+ years litigation or other relevant business operations experience

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with claims and litigation in federal, state, and local jurisdictions
  • Monitor claims and litigation matters and maintain status and tracking of same in various databases, which include: Serengeti, iManage, and other identified tool i.e. PACER
  • Assist with third party subpoenas and information requests including review, investigation, and timely production of responsive documents
  • Assist with drafting, issuance, maintenance, and release of Legal Holds and related tracking of Legal Hold and Legal Hold Custodian status
  • Assist with bankruptcy related claims and litigation, including investigation, drafting, and timely preparation of proofs of claim
  • Coordinate and assist with related matters in assigned area
  • Support and build relationships between legal and other corporate departments, distribution centers, and stores
  • Research and draft responses to legal questions
  • Compose and prepare confidential correspondence, reports, and other complex documents
  • Assist in-house and outside counsel in legal proceedings for assigned area
  • Analyze data and prepare summaries
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyze information skillfully and maintain confidentiality
  • Perform invoice review and assist in accounts payables processing
  • Assist with planning and participating in various meetings and training sessions for assigned area
  • Develop thorough understanding of Academy policies, procedures, and safety rules
  • Duties may change; team member may be required to perform other duties as assigned
