ABOUT THE POSITION
The Grain Merchandising Assistant I provides administrative and transactional support to the Grain Merchandising team by processing freight payments, maintaining grain contracts and documentation, and assisting with settlements and other merchandising activities.
A description of the duties includes:
  • Process freight payments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist with grain settlements and provide backup support for settlement processing.
  • Assist with contract splits, delivery sheets, proof of yield, and other merchandising documentation.
  • Identify and communicate discrepancies or documentation issues to the appropriate team members.
  • Provide excellent internal customer service by responding promptly to requests and maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with employees, customers, and management.
  • Maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork and a favorable image of the Cooperative.
  • Maintain and promote safety awareness by following company safety policies and procedures.
  • Comply with all company policies as well as applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two (2) years or more of administrative or related experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other computer applications.
  • Ability to work overtime (to include evenings and weekends) during peak seasonal times.
