Responsibilities

The Custodian is part of the Maintenance Team. This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position and will report to the Maintenance Supervisor. This position will require a broad range of responsibilities to ensure success. Some examples of these responsibilities are listed below (but are not limited to the following):

  • Clean building floors by means of sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming.
  • Gather and empty trash and recycle regularly.
  • Service, clean and supply restrooms and kitchen areas
  • Clean sinks, countertops, microwaves and refrigerators
  • Clean, polish and dust furniture and fixtures
  • Wash accessible interior windows.
  • Always use proper Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Notify manager of the need for repairs
  • Request supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Adhere to company policies and safety standards.
  • Adhere to ISO process flows.
  • Attend and participate in all required training and meetings.
  • Maintain a neat, clean and safe work area.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' janitorial experience is required.
  • Ability to mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
  • Ability to follow procedures and instructions for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.
  • Must have sufficient written and oral communication, math and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.

Compensation

This position is full-time, hourly, non-exempt. Compensation typically follows industry median for Northeast Ohio/the Great Lakes region. You may be eligible for an annual bonus. This is a long-term, high accountability role.
