Job Description Want to help build a new insurance company from the ground up. Our client, an emerging organization in the life insurance and annuity industry, is looking for a hands-on Platform Configuration & Process Design Specialist to play a critical role in launching a brand-new business. This is an opportunity to join a small, highly collaborative team where you'll help shape the operational processes and technology that will support the company's future growth.
This is not a traditional Business Analyst position. We're looking for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, configuring business platforms, designing workflows, and solving operational challenges-not someone who simply documents requirements for others to execute. What You'll Do As a key member of the implementation team, you'll work directly with business leaders, operations, technology partners, and vendors to build the processes and systems that will power the organization's launch.
Responsibilities include: Configure and enhance insurance platforms supporting new business operations. Design workflows, business rules, forms, validations, and operational processes. Translate business needs into practical platform configurations and system improvements.
Partner with business, operations, and technology teams to identify opportunities for process optimization. Support areas such as new business processing, policy administration, case management, electronic applications, order entry, and workflow automation. Participate in testing, issue resolution, and production readiness activities.
Help establish scalable operational processes in a fast-paced startup environment. Collaborate closely with a small team working toward an aggressive product launch. What We're Looking For Hands-on experience configuring business platforms within life insurance, annuities, financial services, or another regulated industry.
Experience working with one or more insurance platforms such as FireLight, FAST, ALIP, LifePRO, policy administration systems, e-application platforms, workflow tools, or similar technologies. Ability to configure systems directly rather than simply gathering requirements. Strong process design skills with the ability to translate business operations into system functionality.
Experience across multiple operational areas such as new business, underwriting support, policy administration, case management, workflow, forms, or business rules. Comfortable working in an evolving environment where priorities move quickly and collaboration is essential. Willingness to work onsite in West Des Moines as needed to support project milestones and team collaboration.
What Makes This Opportunity Different. Help launch an entirely new business rather than maintain existing systems. Work in a highly collaborative, entrepreneurial environment where your ideas have immediate impact.
Influence both business processes and technology decisions from the beginning. Join a team focused on innovation, speed, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. Opportunity to wear multiple hats and make meaningful contributions across operations and technology.
Compensation Base Salary: $135,000 - $155,000 Bonus Opportunity: 10-20% Total Target Compensation: Approximately $160,000 - $180,000 Location West Des Moines, IA Hybrid work environment with flexibility, along with onsite collaboration during key project phases. If you're excited by the opportunity to build something from the ground up, enjoy solving complex operational challenges, and want to help shape the future of a growing organization, we'd love to hear from you.
