Your Role: Bio Process Scientist

As a Bio Process Scientist, you will be part of the Technical Services & Manufacturing Sciences (TS/MS) team responsible for advancing manufacturing process technology for Elanco's animal health vaccine portfolio. In this role, you will support process optimization, technology transfer, and commercialization activities while leveraging scientific expertise to improve manufacturing performance, product quality, and operational excellence.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Lead or support the commercialization of new vaccine products by partnering with R&D on scale-up, technology transfer, registration, and validation activities.
  • Drive process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, process robustness, product quality, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Execute technology transfers and develop robust manufacturing control strategies to ensure successful implementation into commercial production.
  • Design, execute, and analyze experiments using Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical tools to solve complex manufacturing and process challenges.
  • Author technical documentation, manufacturing procedures, and SAP material planning models while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Good Documentation Practices.
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience supporting biologics, vaccine, or biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
  • Top 2 Skills: Strong scientific problem-solving and process optimization skills combined with experience supporting technology transfer and commercialization in a regulated manufacturing environment.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (preferred qualifications):
  • Experience with large-scale viral and bacterial antigen manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of vaccine commercialization, scale-up, and process validation activities.
  • Experience using JMP or other statistical software for data analysis and Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Familiarity with USDA regulatory requirements and cGMP manufacturing environments.
  • Strong technical writing, cross-functional collaboration, and project management skills.
