Job description

Clio is the global leader in legal AI technology, empowering legal professionals and law firms of every size to work smarter, faster, and more securely.

We are transforming the legal experience for all by bettering the lives of legal professionals while increasing access to justice.

Summary:

We are currently looking for a Senior Manager, Search Experience (AEO, GEO, SEO) to join our Marketing team in Canada or the U.S.

Who you are:

The search landscape is undergoing a generational shift from "Search Engines" to "Answer Engines." We are looking for a visionary Senior Manager, Search Experience to own our organic discovery strategy. You will drive business results (primarily marketing qualified leads and handraises) based on how our brand appears in Google's Search Generative Experience (SGE), generative AI tools (like Perplexity and ChatGPT), and traditional SEO.

Working collaboratively with our cross-functional SEO team, you will be the strategic lead responsible for setting direction and driving execution against the plan across geographies.

What you'll work on:
  • Omni-Channel Search Strategy: Set the overarching strategy for SEO (Search Engine Optimization), AEO (Answer Engine Optimization), and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) to ensure total brand dominance in discovery.

  • Cross-Functional Accountability: Lead a cross-functional search squad consisting of content, technical, and product stakeholders. You own the outcomes (rankings, citations, and organic conversions).

  • AEO & GEO Innovation: Define how we optimize for Large Language Models (LLMs). This includes structured data strategy, citation management, and "Brand Authority" signals that AI engines prioritize.

  • Performance Forecasting: Partner with the Director, Marketing Strategy & Enablement to forecast organic growth and track progress against goals (leads and revenue goals) to executive leadership.

  • The Big Bold Bets: Identify high-leverage opportunities (e.g., site architecture changes, AI-driven content hubs, or technical Schema overhauls) that move the needle beyond incremental gains.

How you'll collaborate:
  • With the Director, Marketing Strategy & Enablement: You will align search goals with broader business objectives and market positioning.

  • With the SEO Content Team: You will collaborate with this team to deliver against the strategy. You will review their content plans to ensure they meet the technical requirements for AEO/GEO and align with the search roadmap.

  • With Technical Teams: You will translate SEO/GEO requirements into site needs, collaborating with the website team to bring them to life.

What you may have:
  • 10+ years of high-level experience in SEO and Digital Strategy.

  • Cross-functional Leadership: Since the SEO Content Manager is a dotted line, you must be an expert at leading through influence, clear documentation, and shared goals.

  • Target Motivation: You obsess over targets and relentlessly hunt for new ways to meet and exceed them.

  • Data Command: Mastery of the SEO tech stack (Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Search Console) and the ability to question deeply and search for patterns and hypotheses.

  • Technical Literacy: Deep understanding of how AI is evolving SEO and what it changes.

What you will find here:

Compensation is one of the main components of Clio's Total Rewards Program. We have developed a series of programs and processes to ensure we are creating fair and competitive pay practices that form the foundation of our human and high-performing culture.

  • EAP benefits for you and household members, including counseling and online resources

  • 401k matching and Child Education Savings

  • Clioversary recognition program with special acknowledgement at 3, 5, 7, and 10 years
