Job description

Process Engineer
MacDonald Search Group has been asked by our industrial manufacturing / building materials client to find a first-class Process Engineer to join their team in the Canada (remote / hybrid). The primary responsibility of this role will be to drive process optimization, safety, and innovation across lime, limestone, and low-carbon cementitious manufacturing operations.
Some of what you will do in this role includes:
  • Champion safety and participate in cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives
  • Troubleshoot and optimize manufacturing processes, including pyro-processing and materials handling
  • Perform heat and mass balance analyses to improve process performance and efficiency
  • Support equipment selection, commissioning, and plant improvement projects
  • Collaborate with plant, technical, and HSE teams to ensure operational and environmental compliance
You should have the following in your background to apply:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Controls Engineering, or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience in lime, cement, industrial minerals, or heavy industrial manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of process control systems, instrumentation, and pyro-processing
  • Experience with plant commissioning, project support, and process optimization
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% across the U.S. and Canada
