Job Description

The Forming Process Specialist will provide technical support in order to produce high quality glass containers and coordinate improvements to maximize machine efficiency and performance. 

The Forming Process Specialist will:

  • Inspect ware from active production lines daily for issues with appearance and defects, report issues to appropriate personnel, and assist with remediation activities.
  • Provide basic scheduling and technical support during common preventative maintenance activities including but not limited to section unit changes, process changes, expendable refractory replacement, combustion filter replacement, conditioning burner maintenance, and mechanism replacement.
  • Analyze basic forming process data points.
  • Ensure that plant safety rules, and company policies and procedures, are adhered to and enforced.
  • Be responsible for job histories and machine set-ups to meet required KPIs and performance and quality goals.
  • Track daily KPIs related to the forming process.

The Forming Process Specialist should have:

  • Experience tracking the performance of jobs and the ability to work with subject matter experts to determine root cause and corrective actions for low performance or poor quality.
  • The ability to provide basic support to stabilize and improve job performance during job changes.
  • Experience managing, training, and developing hourly employees.
  • Experience with glass conditioning.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma required.
  • At least 5 years of related experience in IS glass machine forming process.
  • An understanding of mold repair and machine repair technology, forehearth operations, and their relationship to forming function.
  • Experience in glass manufacturing and bottle making, a technical background in glass manufacturing and plant processes is essential.

Salary Range:  The expected salary range for this position is between $105,000 - $120,000 and includes a possible short-term incentive bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
