Job Title: Process Engineer

Job Description

This Process Engineer role focuses on developing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes for non-released and new products in a highly automated production environment. You will work closely with the production team to ensure correct tooling, support new product development activities, and lead data-driven process improvement projects that enhance quality, yield, efficiency, and productivity. Responsibilities

  • Work with the production team on non-released products to ensure processes are robust, repeatable, and ready for full-scale manufacturing.
  • Verify that machine tooling is correct and aligned with product and process requirements, particularly for new product development activities.
  • Diagnose tooling and machine issues, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement sustaining activities to maintain stable operations.
  • Lead process improvement projects to increase quality, yield, efficiency, and productivity across manufacturing lines.
  • Plan and conduct Design of Experiments (DOE) to optimize manufacturing processes and validate process changes.
  • Use Six Sigma and DMAIC methodologies to identify root causes of process issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Perform process capability studies and analyze manufacturing performance using statistical tools to ensure processes meet capability targets.
  • Investigate yield losses, drive troubleshooting efforts, and follow issues through to resolution.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing standards, process windows, work instructions, and best practices to support consistent production.
  • Support production readiness activities and manage the transition of processes into full-scale manufacturing.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Quality, and Engineering teams to improve assembly and manufacturing processes.
  • Present technical findings, data analyses, and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Research, evaluate, and implement new manufacturing technologies and process improvements to enhance overall performance.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of Process Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience in process engineering, process improvement, and manufacturing engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes and tooling, including diagnosing machine tool issues.
  • Practical experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) and DOE software.
  • Experience applying Six Sigma and DMAIC methodologies for root cause analysis and process improvement.
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis tools such as Minitab and/or JMP.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform process capability studies and interpret statistical data.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and presentations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering; relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Experience supporting new product development and transitioning processes into full-scale production.
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks for mechanical or tooling design and review.

Work Environment

This role is based in a highly automated manufacturing environment in North America, offering flexible daytime work hours such as 8:00–5:00 or 7:00–4:00. The facility is climate controlled to provide a comfortable and stable working atmosphere. Pay and Benefits

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
