Arconic is currently in search of a Process Engineer to join our team based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
As our Lancaster Mill continues to grow, we are looking for a Process Engineer who is passionate about improving manufacturing performance, solving complex operational challenges, and leading meaningful improvement projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing operation where your ideas, technical expertise, and leadership will have a direct impact on safety, quality, productivity, and long-term business success.
In this role, you will work closely with Production, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to optimize manufacturing processes, improve equipment performance, reduce variability, and support capital and continuous improvement initiatives. You'll be a key contributor to the mill's future growth, helping identify opportunities, implement solutions, and drive sustainable operational excellence.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
  • Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
    • Partner with production and maintenance teams to safely achieve plant goals while delivering the highest quality products to our customers.
    • Identify, evaluate, and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, reliability, and overall plant performance.
    • Lead data-driven problem solving efforts to reduce process variability, eliminate chronic issues, and improve operating results.
    • Facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives to address production losses, quality concerns, and operational constraints.
    • Serve as a technical resource for production and maintenance teams, providing expertise and support for process and equipment-related challenges.
    • Collaborate with internal Centers of Excellence and technical experts to implement best practices and innovative solutions.
  • Project Leadership
    • Develop and manage process and equipment improvement projects from concept through execution.
    • Define project scopes, budgets, schedules, and expected business benefits.
    • Coordinate engineering, design, fabrication, installation, and startup activities.
    • Lead cross-functional teams to successfully execute projects while minimizing operational disruptions.
    • Support outage planning and coordinate production and maintenance resources for project execution.
    • Manage project forecasts and monitor capital and expense spending to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Strategic Planning & Business Support
    • Support development of the plant's three-year capital plan by identifying improvement opportunities and developing project justifications.
    • Prepare project descriptions, cost estimates, vendor proposals, and supporting documentation.
    • Work closely with purchasing and contractors to procure services and equipment necessary for project success.
    • Ensure all contractor activities meet safety and compliance requirements.

Qualifications
You have: (required)
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • 0 to 12+ years of relevant engineering experience *Position level (Associate, Senior, Staff, etc.) will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience, skills, and qualifications
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Must be willing to work hands-on alongside both production and maintenance employees including with troubleshooting and repairing equipment
  • Knowledge of Process Management and VPM
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems
  • Ability to handle multiple projects/assignments concurrently and be results oriented
  • Demonstrates computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Demonstrates strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with individuals and teams at all levels of the organization
  • Proficient with AutoCAD or similar CAD software
  • Able to work flexible hours as required
