ATI is seeking to hire a Process Engineering Manager to support our Specialty Rolled Products business unit. This role would based at our Washington, PA production facility.
This position will lead and develop team of Process Engineers who are accountable for process quality and improvement for all ATI SRP Washington and MRZ processes. Manage Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ), process quality, and improvements to further ATI's competitive advantage and support customer needs. Ensure compliance to internal and external quality standards. Support operations, product engineering and quality organizations to deliver high quality products aligned with commercial strategy.
Essential Functions
  • Manage daily technical interactions with internal stakeholders to support CoPQ, process quality and process improvement efforts, including leading Root Cause and Corrective Action efforts and Problem Solving Reviews for all Washington and MRZ processes.
  • Maintain and update process documentation, work instructions and TWI and lead training of operators as necessary
  • Support quality organization during internal, external accreditation and customer audits.
  • Ensure compliance to all internal quality requirements and external accreditation standards
  • Identify and develop opportunities for process improvements including value stream optimization, yield improvements, reduced flow days, and improved delivery performance
  • Support product certification for all product, process and quality specifications.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or technical discipline.
  • 5 years progressive career experience with project management background.
  • 3 years product and/or process development experience in metal industry

Preferred Qualifications
  • B.S. degree or advanced education in Materials Science or Metallurgy
  • Exposure to leading people and organizations

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite of programs - Excel programming skills and proficiency with company systems are positives.
  • Proven leadership capabilities related to managing others, planning, organizing, motivating, directing, and achieving targets are positives.
  • Ability to collect, interpret, and analyze data.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers at all levels.
  • Ability to develop engineers to enable them to progress in their careers within ATI.
  • Organizational, speaking, and writing skills related to training and updating TWI's and control plans.
  • Experience in continuous improvement and a proven track record of product and/or process improvements.
