The primary responsibilities will be to improve productivity through optimization of scrap and rework performance, through improved methods, and strict adherence to proper manufacturing procedures. In addition, the Process Technician will assist in achieving product target cost, improve efficiency, identifying possible production problems for existing products.

The Process Technician will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and will be an active member of the launch team. The Process Technician will be required to support multiple projects and work with their plant to obtain third part registration to TS16949 standards.

Functions

Support project launch strategy

Assist production in trouble-shooting

Fill-in for supervisors as needed

Assist engineering in implementations of new process or revised process changes

Assist in set-up process after a tool change

Assist in process improvements

Support scrap/defect reduction process

Participate in identifying open items issues and task force

Support and maintain project time line

Provide on and off-site support for all pre-production builds requiring components and/or services from the manufacturing site.

Work with the team to develop processes, tune-in equipment and tooling

Assist with training of both technical and production in processing standards

Assist Engineering in minimizing start up costs

Review mold and secondary fixture design and make recommendations. Assist in approval of TSA submissions on molds and secondary equipment as required.

Develop workflow, effective layout and optimize processes.

Process monitoring checks (i.e., flash thickness, black box)

Long lead process improvements and cost reductions for assigned programs

Review of project with Engineering Manager support, as required

Evaluate and implement process/product improvements

DELIVERABLES

Achieve goals and objectives relating to cost and timing

Achieve project expectation and requirements for all elements of PPAP, TS16949.

Weekly program status reports (i.e., performance, open items, corrective action plans, etc.)

Maintain technical log for product/processes assigned, as required

Daily performance updates

Maintain records for primary tools (molds) and selected secondary equipment
