Your Role

As our next Manufacturing Process Engineering Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping our organization’s success. Responsibilities:

  • Develop a vision and a multi-year road map that focuses on achieving excellence in the foundational elements of manufacturing engineering to support customer needs and product road map
  • Manages the manufacturing process engineering team and carries out responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, training, coaching and mentoring design engineers, planning work assignments, and appraising performance.
  • The role acts as an influential manager to guide a team of Engineers and Technicians, manage talent, and improve critical processes and productivity for NPD. This role interacts closely with other departments including Design, Operations, QA, Testing and Supply Chain to deliver value to our customers.
  • Sets SMART objectives, evaluates progress against those objectives, and instills a sense of urgency, energy, agility and a performance-oriented culture.
  • Advances our culture of inventiveness, collaboration, customer-focus, experimentation for fast learning and engineering excellence necessary for the transfer of robust designs to manufacturing/production.
  • Continuously improves and defines critical engineering workflows, WIs, SOPs, processes, methods and tools to accelerate new product development.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance toolset development and utilization and execute to a high standard (e.g. FMEA, SPC; process modeling, Six Sigma).
  • Provides technical oversight, approval, and review of all activities as it relates to manufacturing processes to support new product development.
  • Work with Product Engineering to transfer new products into released/volume manufacturing.
  • Partner with the Manufacturing leadership team and engage in day-to-day operations related to manufacturing performance.
  • Monitor progress of engineering projects, and provide leadership to guide and coach teams to completion.
  • Manages a budget along with project costs and capital expenditures.
  • Understands and monitors the IP and process capability landscape; ensures that novel ideas that may lead to breakthrough and incremental innovations are captured in invention disclosure submissions and novel ideas are converted into intellectual property and trade secrets.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned to meet business needs.
  • Manage functional project work as Business Unit needs require.

People Leadership:

  • Direct oversight of the Manufacturing Process engineering team assigned to the Business Unit supported
  • Demonstrated history of proactive ownership, focus on results, and actively prioritizing and managing competing demands

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in product development, manufacturing, or automation role
  • 3+ years supervisory or management experience
  • Strong communication and people management skills
  • This role may require up to 5% travel domestically and internationally. Candidates should be comfortable with occasional travel as needed to support business objectives.

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience leading engineering teams
  • 5+ years supervisory or management experience
  • Experience implementing and using lean concepts (i.e. Kanban, 5S, SMED)
  • Structured problem-solving experience (i.e. DMAIC, PDCA, 5S)
  • Process Validation experience coordinating installation, operational, and performance qualifications
