Account Executive (Client Development & Onboarding)

Cult Collective Ltd

Calgary, AB

Full-time

Re-posted 6 days ago

Job description

CULT is looking for an Account Executive.

We're looking for someone who loves winning new business-but doesn't disappear once the contract is signed.

This isn't a traditional sales role.

It's a role for someone who enjoys building relationships, creating momentum, solving commercial challenges, and making sure every new client gets off to an exceptional start.

You'll work at the intersection of sales, strategy, and client success-guiding new clients from their first engagement through a successful onboarding before transitioning them to our Account Management team for long-term growth.

If you thrive in fast-moving environments, enjoy owning outcomes, and want to help build a world-class agency, we'd love to meet you.

Why This Role Exists

At CULT, our revenue engine has three distinct responsibilities:

Account Executive
Creates new opportunities, and...

Converts those opportunities into healthy, long-term client relationships.

Account Management
Expands, retains, and grows those relationships over time.

Your job isn't simply to close deals.

Your job is to ensure every new client experiences clarity, momentum, and confidence from Day One.

You'll own everything between a signed engagement and a successful transition to our Account Management team.

What You'll Do

(1)
Convert Opportunities into Clients

Once an opportunity is created, you'll own the commercial process from discovery through signed engagement.

You'll:

  • Lead consultative sales conversations.
  • Develop scopes of work in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Prepare proposals and pricing recommendations.
  • Negotiate commercial terms.
  • Drive contract execution.
  • Maintain momentum throughout the buying process.

(2) Launch Successful Client Partnerships

Unlike many Account Executive roles, your responsibility doesn't end when the contract is signed.

You'll guide every new client through onboarding, ensuring a smooth transition from sales into delivery while building confidence and trust from day one.

You'll:

  • Manage discovery and onboarding activities.
  • Align client expectations, stakeholders, and success measures.
  • Ensure internal teams are prepared to deliver.
  • Identify and resolve risks before they impact the engagement.
  • Create a seamless handoff to the Account Management team once the account is established and ready for long-term growth.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role is measured across the entire early client journey:

  • Efficient delivery of initial client scope of work.
  • Successful Phase 1 to Phase 2 conversion rate.
  • Time from first conversation to signed engagement.
  • Proposal and contract turnaround time.
  • Client onboarding satisfaction.
  • Quality of transition to the Account Management team.

What This Role Is Not

This role does not own:

  • Long-term account management.
  • Account expansion.
  • Renewals.
  • Ongoing delivery management.

Those responsibilities transition to our Account Management team once the client has been successfully onboarded.

Ideal Candidate

You'll likely have experience as an:

  • Account Executive
  • Business Development Manager
  • Strategic Account Executive
  • Enterprise Sales Executive
  • Agency Account Executive
  • SaaS Sales Professional

You probably bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in B2B sales, agency, SaaS, consulting, or professional services.
  • Strong discovery and consultative selling skills.
  • Experience developing proposals and commercial scopes.
  • Confidence negotiating pricing and contracts.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
  • A proactive mindset with a bias toward action.
  • The ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • A genuine passion for helping clients succeed

Why CULT?

We're building something ambitious.

We believe great businesses are built by great people who care deeply about their clients, their teammates, and the quality of their work.

You'll join a team that values ownership, curiosity, creativity, humility, and execution.

If you're looking for a role where you can help shape how a growing agency wins and launches new client partnerships, we'd love to hear from you.

Compensation

Competitive salary plus performance-based incentives, commensurate with experience and overall fit.
