Job description

Role Overview

Sodexo is hiring our remote Asset Management Framework Engineering Team Member 1 to support our Campus Segment Client locations across the nation with many accounts in the east.Travel requirements: 75% travel with residence within 1 hour to a major airport and valid driver's license with clear driving background.

The successful candidate will have an engineering degree, demonstrate strong executive-level presentation skills and professional polish. This role requires independence and extensive travel to build relationships with C-suite executives and deliver advanced problem-solving support for campus Capital Renewal Plans. The position demands deep knowledge of building and mechanical systems, including asset management, central heating and cooling plants, MEP systems, and architectural features. Regular campus portfolio inspections and operational assessments ensure a dynamic and engaging work environment.

This role evaluates site-level technical service delivery and building infrastructure, presenting findings to Site Operations Teams and clients. The Asset Management Engineering team member will also help develop standardized processes and best practices to guide Operations Teams in areas such as facilities engineering, predictive and preventive maintenance, facilities assessments, and operational excellence.

Reporting to the Asset Management Engineering Team Lead, the position supports campus market unit teams by auditing sites, collecting equipment data, and developing capital renewal prioritization plans. The role contributes to the preparation of technical solutions and executive presentations for Facilities Operations Teams and clients, and supports the development of strategic, conceptual service solutions aligned with client business objectives, sales initiatives, and operational strategies.

Extensive background in HARD FM including architectural and structural systems, waste management systems, assetmanagement, HVAC, mechanical and electrical engineering combined with the ability to develop and present innovative technical solutions using digital media and technical writing are critical to success in the role.

What You'll Do
  • Perform capital planning and operational assessments, maintenance assessments, asset management assessments, and energy assessments
  • Address operational, maintenance and compliance issues involving HVAC, building automation, electrical and fire and safety and other building systems
  • Maintain a current and thorough understanding of industry trends as they apply to items within Universities and Campus Operations and incorporate these into Sodexo's offer portfolio and business strategy as appropriate
  • Assist in the continuity of "identity and brand" from an internal perspective.
  • Actively build relationships with operations team members to make the solutions successful
  • Ensure that effective and efficient systems are in place to enable superior performance that will drive value for our clients
  • Negotiate Sodexo's political landscape to build internal relationships and service level agreements to serve our clients
  • Contribute to driving business development and retention objectives across all business units via offer, technical capability, service excellence and education to internal and external clients and customers

What You Bring
  • 3 - 5 years successful experience as aFacilities Director, with sound knowledge of Hard FM in our campus segment, including building infrastructure and utility systems
  • Extensive Computer skills (Master at Excel and all MS Office Suite Products) as well as Digital Arts (modifying photos and other electronic media) are absolutely required
  • Technical report writing experience
  • Demonstrated history of Innovative, Solution Oriented processes to improve Hard FM services
  • A well-developed communication style: Influencing, Collaborative, Strategic
  • This position REQUIRES being able to stand and walk for hours at a time, climbing ladders, walking long distances (3-5 miles/day) sometimes on slippery surfaces, roofs and similar. Bending and kneeling repeatedly, navigating narrow and tight passages. Must be able to crawl into small areas to access mechanical equipment in attics, crawlspaces or under decks.
  • Capable of regular exposure to high temperatures (upwards of 103F) and low (20F-30F) temperatures while inspecting buildings and campus properties.
  • A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

This role is expected to be a subject matter expert in facilities management solutions, in Building Infrastructure and Utility Systems, Facility Assessment, public speaking, digital arts and graphic media creation and presenting and all MS Office Suite software.
