Job description

Solstice Consulting Group is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer for our chemical manufacturing client. This is an in-office position located in the facility in SW Arkansas with 15% domestic travel as necessary. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.

  • Base salary of $130k - $160k DOE plus bonus opportunity and full benefits
  • Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering and 5+ years of active process/project experience in a chemical manufacturing environment required
  • Strong technical engineering and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities:

The Chemical Process Engineer will provide expertise in developing existing and new processes / projects for the company’s plant operations.

▶ Develops new and existing processes from concept to the finished operating process within the plant operations

▶ Capable of developing PFD and P&ID.

▶ Capable of producing material and energy balances for all new or existing Operations

▶ Capable of using CAD programs to build or modify line drawings

▶ Capable of performing complex chemical engineering calculations and providing primary support to resolve process upsets

▶ Capability to troubleshoot process, provide support during startups, shutdowns, and plant turnarounds

▶ Track daily production volumes, raw material utilizations

▶ Work with R&D, Operations, Contractors, Sales and all related teams to fully understand scope and to provide both guidance and expertise as needed for new and existing products

▶ Will lead projects by building team and an executable scope or works, building a solid cost model (OPEX and CAPEX), acquire equipment, write procedures and test plans, conduct start up and turn over the finished new or modified process to Operation’s management team

▶ Investigate and identify root causes of incidents including providing support in categorizing the removal of nuisance alarms. Develop corrective and preventative actions based on incidents.

▶ Good communication skills are a must including capability of writing EOD and solid presentation skills

▶ Provide training that will aid in developing others on process improvements

Requirements:

▶ Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering and 5+ years of active process/project experience in a chemical manufacturing environment required

▶ Strong technical engineering and problem-solving skills
