Job description

Solstice Consulting Group is seeking a Midstream Lead Field Service Specialist for our Oil & Gas Equipment client.

Role requires up to 70% travel (including overnights) in the Region (PA, OH, WV, NY).

  • Hourly up to $50 DOE plus OT (average 45-50 hours per week), bonus opportunity, on-call payments, company vehicle and full benefits
  • 7+ years of oil & gas field experience including experience with dehydration, gas processing, or similar systems
  • Experience working with midstream clients required

We are seeking a skilled Midstream Field Service Specialist to join our Field Services team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, solving complex problems, and working directly with customers in the field. The Midstream Field Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing Midstream systems and related process equipment with a focus on electrical, automation, and mechanical components

Location: This is a remote position with travel within the Utica/Marcellus shale region in West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, commission, and maintain midstream systems such as dehydration, gas filtration, separation, and BTEX mitigation systems and any associated process equipment in the field.
  • Work with customers to sell parts, troubleshooting, and any other field service T&M work.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, automation, and mechanical issues to minimize downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Perform routine inspections, calibrations, sampling, cleanouts, filter changeouts and other preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Work with control systems, PLCs, and instrumentation to ensure proper automation function.
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly, efficiently, and professionally with clients on job progress and findings.
  • Document service activities, field reports, and maintenance records accurately and promptly.
  • Support engineering and operations teams with field feedback to improve product performance and reliability.
  • Travel regularly to customer sites, often in remote or industrial environments.
Qualifications

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Technical Aptitude: Strong mechanical, electrical, and automation skills.
  • Experience: 7+ years in field service, industrial maintenance, or equipment operations (experience with dehydration, gas processing, or similar systems preferred).
  • Education: Technical diploma, associate’s degree, or equivalent work experience in electrical, mechanical, or automation disciplines.
  • Knowledge of:
    • PLCs, control panels, and instrumentation.
    • Basic process flow knowledge on Pumps, valves, heaters, and mechanical systems.
    • Electrical troubleshooting and low-voltage control systems.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication, and a customer-centric mindset.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Willingness to travel (up to 70% of the time).
    • Ability to work independently and safely in field environments.
    • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with midstream related natural gas processing systems.
  • Compression and combustion experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with SCADA or remote monitoring systems.
  • Safety certifications (OSHA, H2S, First Aid, etc.).
