Overview

East Penn Manufacturing is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Process Engineer I to join our engineering team. In this role, you will support the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety across our operations. Working under the guidance of experienced engineers, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, maintenance, and R&D to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement innovative solutions.

This position plays a key role in supporting automotive product processes, equipment, and tooling while ensuring compliance with company and customer standards. You will assist in monitoring process performance, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to process enhancements that drive productivity and reduce waste.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Engineering support to Manufacturing, Quality, H&S, Sales, Costing, and Maintenance on Automotive products, equipment, and tooling.
  • Prepare and deliver information, technical reports, and presentations to management, customers, vendors, and technical partners.
  • Contribute to concept generation and ideation processes.
  • Maintain and protect the confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Perform other duties which may become essential to the position.
  • Participate in regular technical reviews throughout all phases of a project.
  • Interact with production and engineering at all levels.
  • Travel worldwide for the company as required (possibly up to ~25%)
  • Assist Engineers to interface with internal and external customers to develop new processes.
  • Create, maintain, and update published technical information.
  • Support other Process Engineering personnel as needed.
  • Represent East Penn as a technical interface with Equipment Suppliers.
  • Support daily operations of the existing manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Assist in tracking the performance of processes to ensure the process' ability to fulfill EPM and customer performance and safety requirements.
  • Qualifications

    Experience & Qualifications

    • Typically, with less than 5 years of Engineering experience.
    • Familiarity with the battery construction process preferred.

    Education/Certification

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering or scientific discipline.
