Job Title: Process Engineer
Job Description

This Process Engineer role focuses on ensuring the optimal daily performance of a high-volume production line while providing hands-on technical support to Operations and Engineering. The position plays a key role in process engineering, continuous improvement, and quality assurance by overseeing line setup, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting production teams with clear documentation and training.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure optimal daily performance of the production line in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Handle production line setup processes and perform efficient line changeovers to support production schedules.
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and training to production operators, and verify the effectiveness of training activities.
  • Monitor production processes closely to proactively identify issues, reduce downtime, and minimize maintenance costs.
  • Perform in-process inspections to ensure products conform to customer requirements and engineering specifications.
  • Perform high-level maintenance on production tooling and machines to support reliable and consistent operation.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues in collaboration with Engineering and Production teams.
  • Collaborate with Process Engineers to update and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and training plans.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including new part builds and the resolution of quality issues.
  • Contribute to scrap reduction, rate improvement, and cost reduction projects by applying process engineering and continuous improvement methods.
Essential Skills
  • Associate degree in a technical discipline.
  • Experience or strong interest in working within a high-volume production environment.
  • Process engineering or manufacturing engineering background, with exposure to production environments.
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.

Work Environment

The role is based in a high-volume production environment where you will work closely with Operations, Engineering, and Process Engineering teams. The position involves frequent interaction with production lines, tooling, and machines, as well as time spent at a computer using applications such as Excel and PowerPoint for analysis, documentation, and reporting. You will regularly participate in line setup, changeovers, in-process inspections, and technical troubleshooting on the shop floor. The environment emphasizes continuous improvement, collaboration, and adherence to technical drawings, specifications, and industry standards such as IPC 620.

This is a Contract position based out of Akron, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
