Ashland LLC has an exciting opportunity for a Process Engineer to join our team at our Kenedy, TXlocation. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Engineering function. This position will report to Plant Manager.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist in improving product quality and process efficiency through technical studies and experimentation
  • Improve process operations by providing technical support and process troubleshooting
  • Develop process designs and procedures for new products
  • Provide accurate and detailed reports for tests conducted
  • Assist in reviewing process designs and procedures to ensure safe and environmentally sound operation of the facility
  • Provide programming assistance for the process control computers in the plant
  • Understand and comply with plant safety and environmental policies. Report all safety, environmental and quality risks and hazards and chemical releases
  • Complete all activities in accordance with good manufacturing practices
  • Lead the facility's continuous improvement program focusing on implementation of Lean manufacturing practices including 5S, visual management, Lean Six Sigma projects, and operations alignment

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

  • B.S. in Engineering or a related engineering degree
  • Good written and oral communication skills are required

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 2-3 years of engineering experience
  • Knowledge in programming PLCs and ladder logic.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques
  • Polymer chemistry
  • Bulk powder handling expertise
