Job Summary:
Coherent Corp. is a global leader in lasers and engineered materials, seeking a Process Engineering Director to manage engineering for customer qualification, process control, and continuous improvement. The role involves supervising process technicians, developing new processes, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations while promoting business growth.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Manage engineering for qualification of customers, process control and continuous improvement for the Facility and sustain and improve all aspects of existing ion implant processes.
โ€ข Supervise process technicians and lead efforts including but not limited to the following: implementing process improvements; conducting experiments and executing gauge capabilities with direction from senior Process Engineering Member working with production as needed; interface with sales for achievement of a common goal.
โ€ข EHS liaison for the site and promote safety. Monitor the compliance and reporting to the appropriate agencies.
โ€ข Work directly with customers on new process development and any process related issues.
โ€ข Develop and maintain simulation models to support customer request and business growth.
โ€ข Focus on Process Development and Process-Related-Equipment-Enhancement Development. Sustain/Support Implantation production as necessary. Production improvements are planned for both the High Current Implant and Broad Range Implant areas.
โ€ข Manage maintenance team to support tool uptime and PMs.

Required:

โ€ข Supervise process technicians and lead efforts including but not limited to the following: implementing process improvements; conducting experiments and executing gauge capabilities with direction from senior Process Engineering Member working with production as needed; interface with sales for achievement of a common goal.
โ€ข EHS liaison for the site and promote safety. Monitor the compliance and reporting to the appropriate agencies.
โ€ข Work directly with customers on new process development and any process related issues.
โ€ข Develop and maintain simulation models to support customer request and business growth.
โ€ข Focus on Process Development and Process-Related-Equipment-Enhancement Development. Sustain/Support Implantation production as necessary. Production improvements are planned for both the High Current Implant and Broad Range Implant areas.
โ€ข Manage maintenance team to support tool uptime and PMs.
โ€ข At minimum, 10+ years of relevant work experience working in a technical factory with at least 7 years of management experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
โ€ข Experience with ion implantation process engineering for a variety of process technologies (Discrete devices, Bipolar, CMOS, etc) and a variety of tool types. Sales and Marketing support capability needed. Recognition in the implant engineering community to be established over time.
โ€ข Knowledge in the areas of integrated circuit integration or statistical process control is a plus.
โ€ข Proven experience with high volume fabrication processes, process FMEA's, control plans and statistical process control.
โ€ข Working knowledge of standard costing system.
โ€ข Experience in identifying, justifying and deploying new capital assets where needed.
โ€ข Technical leadership/managing skills.
โ€ข Working knowledge of Six Sigma methods.
โ€ข A mix of computer skills needed; skills in high voltage, low current electronics, logic circuits, pneumatic logic, and ion physics.
โ€ข Strong written communication (proposals, memos) and verbal communication skills (listening, making presentations).
โ€ข Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and Microsoft Project (or similar software).
โ€ข Work in an office environment and non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility.
โ€ข Work in a Class 10/100/1000 clean room for extended periods.
โ€ข Wear full clean room attire.
โ€ข Work with and/or around chemicals such as acids and solvents.
โ€ข Providing support during off hours.
โ€ข Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, or protected individual).
โ€ข Compliance with all applicable export control regulations.
โ€ข All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards.
โ€ข Depending on location, this position may be responsible for the execution and maintenance of the ISO 9000, 9001, 14001 and/or other applicable standards that may apply to the relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
