Role Overview

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving sustainable, profitable growth across Pain dโ€™Avignonโ€™s wholesale business. This role focuses on expanding revenue across hospitality, retail, and strategic partnership channels while protecting margins, production capacity, and brand standards.

You will lead both strategy and executionโ€”building new business, managing key accounts, and laying the foundation for a scalable business development function, including future team growth.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Growth

  • Develop and execute a growth strategy aligned with brand values and production capacity
  • Identify and develop new revenue opportunities across all wholesale channels
  • Build strategic partnerships, pilots, and scalable programs

Account & Revenue Management

  • Manage key accounts and ensure long-term relationship success
  • Oversee pricing, minimums, contract terms, and deal structure to protect margins
  • Evaluate opportunities based on operational feasibility (labor, yield, shelf life, logistics, waste)

Strategy & Systems

  • Establish sales processes, KPIs, reporting cadence, and pipeline structure
  • Track performance and identify opportunities for expansion or optimization
  • Recommend scaling, modifying, or discontinuing channels based on results

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Production, Operations, Logistics, and Administration teams
  • Ensure alignment between sales commitments and production capacity
  • Communicate demand trends and customer feedback internally

Leadership & Growth

  • As the function expands, hire and mentor junior sales or business development staff
  • Help define the long-term structure of the sales organization

Qualifications

  • 3โ€“5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management (food, hospitality, or wholesale)
  • Proven ability to build and grow client relationships and drive revenue
  • Strong understanding of sales strategy, pipeline management, and deal negotiation
  • Experience working cross-functionally with operations, production, or logistics teams
  • Ability to evaluate business opportunities through both financial and operational lenses
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Self-directed, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and basic sales reporting systems preferred
  • Proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Office

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $75,000- $90,000 annually (paid weekly) DOE

Commission:

  • 3% on year-over-year incremental sales growth from assigned accounts
  • Calculated quarterly based on verified growth vs. prior year
