Medical Assistant - Urology
Location: Astoria, NY
Schedule: 5 / 8.5 Hour Shifts; Mon-Fri 7:30a-6p
Organization: New York Health (NYH)
In this role, you will:
  • Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording.
  • Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests.
  • Record patients' vital signs.
  • Prepare patients for examinations.
  • Sterilize medical equipment and instruments.
  • Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process.
  • Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures.
  • Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

We require:
  • High School Diploma
  • Proficiency with an EMR system (Preferred)
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
  • Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs
