Job Type: Full-time
Reports To: Operations Manager / General Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Manager to oversee daily operations at our wooden crate manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing production schedules, supervising staff, ensuring quality standards, optimizing workflow, and maintaining a safe and efficient workplace. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Planning & Scheduling
    • Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet customer orders and deadlines.
    • Monitor production flow to minimize downtime and ensure efficient use of materials and labor.
  • Staff Management
    • Supervise and lead a team of production workers, including assemblers, machine operators, and forklift drivers.
    • Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback.
    • Ensure adequate staffing levels and manage timekeeping and shift rotations.
  • Quality Control
    • Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure crates meet specifications and safety standards.
    • Investigate and resolve production or product quality issues.
    • Implement corrective actions to reduce defects and improve consistency.
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Maintain a safe working environment and enforce compliance with health and safety regulations.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and toolbox talks.
    • Ensure machinery and equipment are maintained in proper working condition.
  • Inventory & Resource Management
    • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials (e.g., lumber, nails, fasteners) and coordinate with purchasing.
    • Track usage and minimize waste of materials.
    • Collaborate with warehouse staff on shipping and receiving processes.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
    • Lead initiatives for lean manufacturing, workflow improvements, and process optimization.

Qualifications:

  • MUST BE BILINGUAL IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH
  • Proven experience as a Production Manager, Supervisor, or similar role in a manufacturing or woodworking environment.
  • Knowledge of woodworking equipment, tools, and crate assembly processes is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the warehouse for extended periods.
