What is the opportunity?
Director, Assessment Execution will lead a team responsible for executing enterprise-wide control assessments across application, infrastructure and cloud technology platforms. This includes Application Control Assessments, Infrastructure Control Assessments, and Cloud Scorecard assessments.
This leadership role will drive operational excellence, quality, consistency and timely delivery across the assessment portfolio. You will oversee assessment execution, maintain assessment standards, enhance tools and processes, and provide clear reporting to senior stakeholders on performance, quality, risk and emerging issues. The role requires strong execution discipline and stakeholder management.

What will you do?

  • Lead and manage a team of assessment execution professionals, providing direction on assessment methodology, quality standards, prioritization and performance expectations

  • Oversee the execution of Application Control Assessments, Infrastructure Control Assessments and Cloud Scorecard assessments across the enterprise, ensuring timely completion of assessment outputs while maintaining service-level and quality expectations

  • Manage capacity planning, resource allocation, staffing and contractor relationships to ensure optimal resource utilization

  • Establish, maintain, and refresh assessment standards, procedures, documentation and process guidance to support consistent execution and alignment with risk management frameworks

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen assessment processes, improve quality, reduce operational friction, and enhance stakeholder experience, including partnering with technology teams to prioritize tool enhancements, resolve defects, and optimize assessment workflows

  • Coordinate timely, accurate responses to internal audit, control testing, regulatory, GRM and other stakeholder inquiries. Drive remediation of open issues and findings by coordinating action plans, tracking progress, gathering supporting evidence and preparing closure narratives

  • Oversee regular governance and executive-level reporting that provides clear insight into assessment execution performance and key areas requiring management attention

  • Maintain high-quality assessment outputs and delivery standards across all assessment programs, ensuring consistency in execution and documentation

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Proven people leadership experience, with the ability to build, motivate, coach and manage a high-performing team in a complex enterprise environment.

  • Strong problem solving and execution skills, with the ability to bring structure to ambiguous issues, resolve delivery challenges and drive outcomes across multiple priorities.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to engage senior stakeholders, explain complex issues clearly, and influence decisions across technology, risk and business teams.

  • Experience leading operational delivery, governance processes and assessment execution.

  • Strong ability to manage quality, consistency, timelines, capacity and performance across a portfolio of recurring deliverables.

  • Strong knowledge of technology, risk and control assessments, cybersecurity, IT governance, audit, regulatory and compliance processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement, including improving workflows, reporting, tools, automation or operating models.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Application Control Assessments, Infrastructure Control Assessments and Cloud Scorecard assessments.

  • Background in financial services.

  • Experience deploying automation, analytics, workflows tools or AI enabled capabilities to improve quality consistency or efficiency.
