Your Team, Your Impact
Marvell Technology is seeking a highly motivated, talented and strategic Principal Engineer. You will be part of dynamic Test Engineering team working on most advanced technologies including Custom ASIC, Cloud, Server & Network Processor. You will lead Product and Test Engineering planning, cost modeling, and operational execution for New Product Introduction (NPI) programs. This role will be responsible for driving RFI/RFQ sizing activities, developing OpEx and CapEx estimates, coordinating cross-functional engineering efforts, and optimizing product qualification and test processes across pre-silicon and post-silicon phases.
What You Can Expect
Product & Test Engineering Planning
  • Lead RFI and RFQ sizing activities for Product Engineering and Test Engineering programs.
  • Develop and maintain operational expenditure (OpEx) sizing models for Product Engineering and Test Engineering organizations.
  • Support NPI development activities including:
    • Pre-silicon engagement
    • Post-silicon qualification
    • Silicon characterization
    • Validation and verification planning

Capital Expenditure (CapEx) Management
  • Develop CapEx estimates and planning models for Product and Test Engineering requirements.
  • Determine and estimate:
    • Load board costs
    • Probe card costs
    • Socket requirements
    • Qualification hardware needs
    • Module and wafer quantities required for validation, verification, and qualification
  • Optimize capital investments while maintaining technical and schedule requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams including:
    • Operations Engineering
    • Marketing
    • Sales
    • Design Engineering
    • DFT (Design for Test)
    • Product Engineering
    • Test Engineering
  • Collaborate with Finance teams to determine cost-per-unit models and support business case analysis.
  • Work with sourcing and procurement teams to obtain vendor quotations, negotiate technical requirements, and support supplier evaluations.
  • Coordinate with engineering stakeholders to define probe test and final test flows for production readiness.

Program Execution & Technical Leadership
  • Participate in Technical Kick-Off (TKO) meetings and drive action items to closure.
  • Serve as a proactive and responsive technical leader across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Prioritize critical deliverables while effectively managing multiple tasks and timelines.
  • Provide technical guidance and strategic recommendations to improve engineering efficiency and execution.

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
  • Identify opportunities to revamp and streamline engineering and operational processes.
  • Drive automation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and cost optimization.
  • Develop best practices for estimation, qualification planning, and engineering operations.

What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years experience in semiconductor Product Engineering and/or Test Engineering environments.
- Strong understanding of:
  • Semiconductor manufacturing flows
  • NPI lifecycle
  • Silicon qualification and characterization
  • Probe and final test methodologies
  • Cost modeling and engineering operations

- Experience working with OSATs, ATE platforms (Advantest V93K and Teradyne Uflex), probe cards, sockets, and load boards.
- Proven ability to work effectively in highly cross-functional environments.
- Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
- Grounded, detail-oriented.
- Has an inherent sense of urgency and accountability.
- Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
Expected Base Pay Range (USD)
138,400 - 204,800, $ per annum
The successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
