Schedule

  • Flexible 12-hour shifts (day and night coverage available)
  • Department staffed 24 hours with physician coverage using 12-hour shifts

Patient Population & Volume

  • Emergency department patients; general EM case mix
  • Approximately 18,250 visits per year
  • Admissions as clinically indicated

Facility & Systems

  • ED beds: 11
  • EMR: Cerner
  • On-site imaging and laboratory services for specialty backup

Privileges & Compliance

  • Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges: TBD
  • Emergency Medicine core privileges and procedures per Department of Privileges (DOP)
  • Emergency stabilization and treatment procedures within granted privileges

Compensation & Benefits

Provider Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Texas medical license
  • Active DEA with Texas address
  • Board certification:
    • Emergency Medicine preferred; or
    • Family Medicine/Internal Medicine acceptable with current ACLS, ATLS, and PALS
  • Current emergency medicine experience within past 2 years required for FM/IM candidates
  • Completion of residency in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine
  • Fellowship preferred
  • Immunizations/tests:
    • TB test within 12 months (CXR if positive)
    • Hepatitis B immunization
    • Two MMR vaccinations or positive titers
    • Two Varicella vaccinations or positive titers
    • Tdap within 10 years
    • Current influenza vaccination
    • COVID vaccination

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency medical care in a free-standing ED
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and injuries
  • Perform procedures within granted privileges
  • Document all patient encounters in Cerner
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to maintain continuous 24-hour physician coverage
