Job description

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Commissioner located in the following locations:
  • Washington, DC
  • Chicago, IL

Salary: Salary listed reflects the rest of U.S. scale and, if applicable, will be adjusted to meet the locality pay or cost of living expenses of the duty location upon selection.Qualifications:Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
  • Providing expert advice and guidance to senior officials, program managers, and system owners on the collection, use, sharing, and protection of personal information and on privacy safeguards and requirements.
  • Monitoring compliance with Federal privacy laws and agency privacy policies, identifying systemic or program-level privacy risks, and directing or advising on corrective, remedial, or preventive actions.
  • Conducting or leading reviews of programs, systems, or business processes to identify vulnerabilities related to personal information and recommending or implementing appropriate privacy controls.
  • Preparing and delivering briefings, reports, or policy/issue papers on complex or sensitive privacy matters and representing the organization in internal or external meetings, working groups, or consultations on privacy issues.
