Job description

About Treeswift

In the face of rising threats, increasing pressure on affordability, and unprecedented demand for power, Treeswift empowers energy companies to modernize their field work to meet the growth and challenges ahead.

We build physical AI for the field worker: whether on foot or in a vehicle, our technology is an ironman suit for engineers, linemen, and vegetation crews: same worker, same boots on the ground, now operating at 10x productivity. Our platform is powered by cutting edge hardware, sensors (LiDAR, camera, etc…), AI and software designed to revolutionize work in the toughest environments.

Since our first pilot with a utility in June 2024, we've grown fast, now working with three of the five largest utilities in the US. To date, our technology has enabled our customers to reduce wildfire risk, regulatory and outage risk from vegetation, avoid delays and cost overruns in new construction, and accelerate recovery from severe storms.

To tackle this challenge, we are bringing together a team of mission-driven experts with deep industry experience in robotics (Penn, Caltech, CMU) and enterprise software development (Palantir, Stripe, Oracle, MongoDB). We have raised funding from leading investors including Penny Pritzker’s Inspired Capital.

We are headquartered in midtown Manhattan, with additional offices in San Francisco and Philadelphia.

Our growth is only accelerating. We’re looking for deeply curious and highly ambitious people who want to have a real world impact. Come build the future of (field) work with us.

The Position:

Treeswift is hiring its first Head of Finance at a pivotal stage of company growth. We've proven our product with some of the largest utilities in the country, and we're now building the financial strategy, infrastructure, and operating rigor required to scale an enterprise technology company for the long term.

This role goes far beyond traditional FP&A or reporting. We're looking for a strategic finance leader who can help shape how the business scales, from pricing strategy and capital planning to long-range forecasting, investor readiness, and operational decision-making. This is a role for someone who thinks from first principles and is comfortable operating in a fast-growing, still-evolving environment, bringing sound judgment to decisions even when the data is incomplete and building a financial model the team can rely on as the business scales.

The ideal candidate has helped scale a venture-backed enterprise or hardware technology company through multiple stages of growth, ideally from Series A or B through later-stage scale, and understands how finance evolves as a company matures. This person brings strong judgment, executive presence, and the ability to influence decisions in environments where there is no existing playbook. You'll report directly to the Co-Founder & CEO and serve as a key thought partner across the business as we navigate the intersection of enterprise infrastructure, hardware, and AI.

What You'll Do:

Strategic Finance and Business Partnership

  • Partner closely with the CEO and leadership team to shape company strategy and drive high-impact financial and operational decision-making across GTM, Engineering, Operations, and expansion initiatives
  • Serve as a key partner in fundraising and investor engagement, including financial storytelling, diligence readiness, and capital strategy
  • Own and evolve the company's long-range financial model, translating complex enterprise deal structures, hardware economics, and growth drivers into actionable insights and recommendations
  • Develop pricing and monetization strategy grounded in customer value and a deep understanding of our business model
  • Lead strategic planning, scenario modeling, and capital allocation decisions to support sustainable growth
  • Help build the financial foundation and operating discipline required to scale from early-stage growth through later-stage maturity

Financial Planning, Analysis and Reporting

  • Define and operationalize the financial and business metrics that matter most, creating visibility into company performance and informing executive decision-making
  • Partner cross-functionally to improve business economics across gross margin, deployment efficiency, customer acquisition, retention, and long-term profitability
  • Build scalable forecasting, planning, and reporting processes that support rapid growth and increasing operational complexity
  • Collaborate with Business Operations and other cross-functional leaders to strengthen financial rigor
Who You Are:
  • 10–15+ years of experience across strategic finance, FP&A, investment, or corporate finance, with increasing ownership and influence
  • Experience scaling a venture-backed enterprise technology company through multiple stages of growth, ideally from Series A or B through Series D, IPO, or acquisition
  • A strong track record of influencing executive-level strategic decisions, not simply reporting on business performance
  • Deep understanding of enterprise business models, including complex pricing structures, long-term contracts, and value-based pricing
  • Experience operating in high-growth, ambiguous environments where finance plays a central role in shaping company direction
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities, with the ability to connect financial insights to broader business strategy
  • Experience supporting fundraising, investor relations, board preparation, and strategic finance initiatives
  • Executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and leadership
  • Based in or able to regularly commute to NYC
What we offer:
  • Competitive medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your eligible dependents
  • Life insurance and short- and long-term disability coverage
  • Meaningful equity
  • 16 weeks of fully paid parental leave to support all new parents
  • Flexible, unlimited paid time off
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan
  • Free OneMedical membership
  • Commuter benefits
  • Snacks, goodies, and team lunches provided twice a week to keep you fueled and connected with your colleagues.
What We Value
  • Mission first. We value team members who are focused on working towards the best outcomes for the customer and the business.
  • Curiosity. We are constantly learning – from each other and from our customers.. We aren’t afraid to learn we were wrong in the process and adapt our approach accordingly.
  • Owners mindset. If you see an opportunity for improvement, run with it. We believe that good ideas can come from anywhere, no matter your role.

The estimated base salary range for this role is $225,000 to $275,000. Final compensation is determined by skills, experience, qualifications, and location, and does not include the value of any bonuses, benefits, or long-term incentives. This range is disclosed in compliance with the New York City Human Rights Law and applies to NYC-based roles. Compensation may vary for candidates located outside of New York City.

Treeswift is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We provide employment opportunities without regard to age, race, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, veteran status, or any other protected status in accordance with applicable law.

If you require any accommodations during the recruitment process, whether it be alternate forms of material, accessible meeting rooms, etc., please let us know and we will work with you to meet your needs.
