rEvolution is seeking a Senior Director, Business Development to join our growing sports marketing agency. In this role, reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth through the acquisition of new brand and rightsholder clients across global markets. You will lead strategic business development initiatives, cultivate C-suite relationships, and develop and pitch integrated marketing solutions that leverage sports, entertainment, experiential, digital, and content platforms.

If you possess deep experience in sponsorship sales, sports marketing, brand partnerships, and consultative selling, with a proven track record of generating multi-million-dollar revenue opportunities and closing complex deals, this role may be an ideal fit for you.

You Will:

  • Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities with brands, rights holders, media partners, and event organizers.
  • Consistently achieve and exceed annual revenue and sales targets.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects across priority industry sectors.
  • Lead all aspects of the sales process, including prospecting, solution development, proposal creation, negotiation, and contract execution.
  • Develop customized partnership strategies that align client business objectives with agency capabilities and assets.
  • Use your network of Senior Marketing Director and C-suite industry contacts to generate meetings with prospective clients, turning meetings into RFPs and closing sales.
  • Partner closely with strategy, consulting, activation, creative, analytics, and account teams to develop compelling client solutions and pitches.
  • Collaborate with agency leadership to identify growth opportunities, market trends, and emerging categories.
  • Drive best practices in sales methodology, CRM utilization, forecasting, and pipeline management.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the global sports, entertainment, and media landscape.
  • Monitor industry trends, sponsorship investments, consumer behavior, and competitive activity.
  • Identify emerging opportunities across sports properties, leagues, teams, athletes, venues, and media platforms.


You Have:

  • 10 years of experience, including a proven track record of supporting business development for a sports marketing agency, professional sports team, league or entity in a senior-level role.
  • A significant network of senior, marketing director and C-Suite industry contacts to generate meetings with prospective clients, turning meetings into RFP and closed deals.
  • A deep understanding of the business of sports marketing.
  • Excellent decision-making and negotiation skills.

This role is based in our fabulous Chicago office, but has a global remit.


The salary range for this position begins at $80-120K, plus commission. Compensation is structured to support an initial ramp period and transitions into a performance-based plan over time.
