POSITION/LEVEL: Director, Sports & Entertainment FLSA STATUS: Exempt

DEPT/OFFICE: Sports & Entertainment DATE: July 2026

JOB SUMMARY:


The Director will lead the ongoing development and implementation of Jamestown’s sports and entertainment strategy, with a focus on sports-adjacent mixed-use development projects and advisory engagements. This role will serve as a key subject matter expert, leveraging dep industry knowledge and relationships to identify and cultivate partnerships, strengthen Jamestown’s market presence, and support high-impact projects from concept through execution. With 15+ years of relevant experience, the ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of sports-adjacent real estate, sponsorships, venue development, and business strategy, while collaborating with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to shape and expand this critical business vertical.


This position requires open and frequent collaboration with senior leadership and with many departments.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the sports and entertainment industries (e.g., ecosystem of key stakeholders, fundraising, sponsorships, ticketing, capital markets, incentives, trends, ownership news).
  • Existing relationships in the sports and entertainment industry strongly preferred.
  • Must have development and/or redevelopment experience, with direct experience managing sports and entertainment-adjacent mixed-use development projects end-to-end.
  • Working knowledge of zoning and entitlement frameworks in key markets. Either direct experience in master planning or collaboration with master planning teams; ability to understand and speak to urban planning elements required for district development.
  • Strong budgeting and scheduling skills.
  • Experience overseeing designers, consultants and contractors.
  • Experience structuring or pursuing public financing tools preferred.
  • Must possess strong working knowledge of relevant real estate asset classes - retail, F&B, office, hospitality, entertainment, and residential - from construction management and development through to operations.
  • An understanding of existing immersive technology and experiences across all real estate asset classes is preferred, with an inherent curiosity about future developments.
  • Strong budgeting and financial skills along with successfully working with technical teams to provide concise direction and explore myriads of options are also important attributes.
  • Strong public speaking skills; comfortable presenting to investment committees, municipal bodies, community groups, and capital partners.
  • Soft skills: Highly-organized; collaborative; strong communication skills; relationship & stakeholder management.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead strategy for growing Jamestown's sports & entertainment business line, in collaboration with leadership.
  • Lead business development for sports & entertainment-related opportunities
  • Strengthen industry connections and enhance Jamestown’s profile in the space
  • serve as Jamestown’s lead subject matter expert in the industry
  • Track and develop potential opportunities & relationships
  • Provide executive direction on RFP responses, with support from Senior Associate
  • Advise and lead on services engagements where relevant, providing sports & entertainment subject matter expertise.
  • Oversee key mixed-use development projects, including but not limited to sports and entertainment adjacent projects – managing all phases of the development lifecycle from initial vision and feasibility through entitlements and execution. Serve as project lead and relationship manager.

Majority of work time will be spent in an office environment, however, set up and during events, candidate should be able to meet the following physical requirements:
