Job Summary:

Reads the set-up sheet and utilizes the product code to determine the product to be
manufactured, machine adjustments, and material requirements.


Responsibilities:

  • Sets up, runs, and monitors the machine for all standard and nonstandard products.
  • Sets up and runs a respooling machine located in the cabling area to respool sub cables, fillers, and wire.
  • Observes, measures, and inspects products at various stages of the production process to ensure product is being produced per proper set-up sheet specifications.
  • Correctly completes all documentation specific to this job function.
  • Cleans equipment to prevent contamination as required.
  • Recognizes various defects and problems that arise during production. Assists in solving problems or notifies supervisor if required.
  • Runs the rework line when the workload at the Strander allows including washing cables with E
  • Cleaner or MEK, printing cables, stripping cables, respooling cables, wire, and fillers, and using the stripping wheel to strip armor and FRP cables.


Qualifications:

  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate a machine in a production environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to use tools and measuring devices properly.
  • Ability to read and follow basic instructions and to understand and implement quality procedures.
  • Math and handwriting skills required and the ability to correctly complete all documentation.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Pays close attention to detail with the ability to complete assignments accurately and recognize and help resolve problems.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Ability to operate a hoist.
